Hello, I am Brian, I am a thirty something office worker and I am desperately looking for a great game of 5th edition. Things I am looking for - A smaller group, 5 PCs max. I would prefer the smaller group so people can have an identity in the group and don't get lost in the crowd of voices. I also feel a smaller group makes us depends on each other more, and makes it so we have to forms plans and work to each others strengths to meet the challenges we are present. - An experienced DM. In my opinion, the DM has to entertain their audience, describe things in great detail, add personality and emotion to NPCs, and be open minded to ideas. - RAW! Rules as written. I have yet to fully play 5 ed. so I actually want to play it. I can understand house rulings that we all agree upon, but I don't want to have to learn a whole new set of rules. - Setting can be Home-brewed, although I would prefer Forgotten Realms, as most of my 2nd edition gaming was from there, and I really enjoyed it. I am definitely up for a new setting, as long as its the typical medieval fantasy genre. - If possible, 30+ age group of players . I have nothing against the youths, but sometimes their online etiquette isn't solid. I don't want to listen to mouth breathers, and people who cannot sit still and let others get a word in. Its definitely not as easy as being at a table, when you can look across it and see someone is trying to get a word in, but the consideration should be there. - Roleplaying, I want to play the character, not the character sheet. Info about me I have been playing some form of table top since I was 15, starting with AD&D during my high school days. Since then I have been through 3rd, 4th, GURPS, a Cthulhu game, a Futuristic home-brewed steampunk kinda game, all people at tables, offline. I have tried some 5th here, but I am just not finding the right group, and I really want to. I really enjoy what they did with this edition, to me it seems like they took all the good stuff from 4th, and smashed it into 2nd ed. which makes me want to nerd all over the place! I have played Hack and Slash, the Holy Rollers, the Evil, and the Epic campaigns. I enjoy the campaigns most where people come together as a team. I would like to have memorable fights, good character progression, a story that makes me hate to miss a game, and good people with good senses of humor. I am looking for a long term game, where people can socialize and get to know each other during play, as opposed to min/maxing and getting through encounters fast by throwing stats at objectives, and instead think of ideas to help them pull off crazy things for the glory of being a hero. I am EST time zone, and am available Mon-Fri after 6:30 EST, with a firm stop at 11PM (except Friday), Weekends are good, but I would prefer Sunday, morn or midday. Frequency hopefully weekly or bi-weekly. If you have a game you think I would enjoy, please let me know (PM me on Roll20, or Skype me: brian.c719). I'd be happy to chat to see if I can be the right fit for your game.
