Campaign Image

November 28 (9 years ago)
Are there any limits other than file type on the kind of image I can load as a campaign image? Because I'm trying to upload a 7.9 mb jpeg 3.4k by 2.5k pixel image and nothing is happening.

As you are a pro subscriber, you have a 10mb size limit on each art asset but it has been noted before that the closer you get to that limit the more than likely it will stall on the upload. I skimmed through the wiki but found nothing and the only reference in print is on your subscription page where it talks about custom art uploads (it mentions the various asset limit sizes there). I would recommend either breaking it up into pieces to reduce the size or drop the DPI resolution down some to decrease the asset size.

On (https://wiki.roll20.net/Image_Best_Practices_for_Roll20#Web-Friendly_vs._Print_Images) it talks about changing the image resolution to reduce the file size so that is a possible fix.

I reduced the size of the file by half and it worked. Guess I'll try to avoid going above 5 mb to avoid stalling.

I'm glad your issue was resolved but if you are determined to keep the dpi and resolution high, you can always break the image in half then place them side by side in roll20 or go with quarters. I heard many GM's doing that for abnormally large files that push the asset limit or exceed it.

As you issue was resolved, I'm going to close this thread but if you have a new question please create a new post.
