Interest Check: Dark Fantasy Horror style D&D 5e

Hello tharr!

Name's Kasper, I'm a 24 year old experienced role player who might be looking to run (yet another) game of D&D. My idea is for a Horroresque Campaign, where the difficulty has been turned up, and we can really get those legs shaking, as you won't know what horror will be found around the next corner. I'm still working on a story, but I thought it might be a good idea to get a feeling of if people would be interested in this kind of game. Basically it would be VERY RP heavy, and due to the setting, I'd need serious players who're able to make deep and immersed characters. Besides this, I would play with these house rules:

1. Resting and Healing
  • A short rest is now 8 hours.
  • A long rest is 7 days.
  • To use Hit Dice for healing during a short rest, you must expend a use of a Healing kit. You can spend as many Hit Dice you want per use of healing kit, though you need to expend a use for each character healing.
  • Long rests allow you to spend Hit Dice to heal without expending the use of a Healing Kit.
  • Hit Dice are regained as milestones, not through long rests.
2. Injuries
  • Whenever you suffer a Critical hit or hit 0 HP, but is not killed outright, you suffer an Injury from the Lingering Injury table of the DMG:
3. Banned Spells
  • Contact Other Plane
  • Detect Evil and Good
  • Dispel Evil and Good
  • Gate
  • Maze
  • Plane Shift
  • Protection from Evil and Good
  • Reincarnate
  • Resurrection
  • True Resurrection
  • Wish
4. EXP and HP
  • I will keep EXP hidden, and give out EXP based on all actions, not just combat. The EXP will be individually given, based on roleplay, ingenuity and, of course, participation in combat.
  • I will also keep your characters' MAX and Current HP hidden, though I will do my best to describe your current status. This is to create a sense of danger, as you'll never be completely sure if you could take that last hit from the Zombie...
5. Hidden Checks
  • For the same reason, to keep you a bit in the dark and have the suspense and mystery build, I will do all active Insight, Investigation and Perception checks.
If any of this could sound like fun, gimme a call! I'm also taking suggestions to make it even more gritty, dark and horribly fun!

I am down.

Edit: A good alternative to the short and long rest being 8 hours/7 days is just adjusting certain aspects. With the requirement of healers kits you can easily alter a long rest (8 hours) as only healing lvl + Con mod hp. That way injured players have to decide if they are going to spend precious resources such as spells or hit dice in a much more reserved way. For a short rest you can easily double the time to 2 hours and still get the desired results. I use this concept for my gothic horror D&D games.

I also suggest including the sanity stat.
I put the times of the rests down to the originals, but made it so healing at short rests require a use of a healing kit... Healing can be done without on a long rest, and hit dice is only gained through milestones

I did think of the Sanity stat, but Iunno if I wanna add it, especially since the Sheet doesn't really... have it xD Anywuss, my Skype is "Kawiie", so add me and we can discuss further!

I'd be willing to give this a shot, higher stakes generally mean your going to care a bit more about your character.

This sounds amazing, what would the times be? I'd be willing to play, assuming i can make the times.
I'm afraid we might be full, though I am a bit uncertain on our last member. The game would be Thursdays 9 pm GMT. If you can make it and want to be put on my list of back-ups, just write me a PM.
