Welcome to the world of Arlos,
and the continent of Lorestir! Originally a land full of hostile undead and
monstrosities, most of the continent has some form of civilization, with only
pockets of these creatures still left. Though as is expected, not all danger is
gone as where once the monstrosities of the land posed a threat, now
civilization itself houses threats.
Hello everyone! I am DMing a 5 th Edition
campaign, in a completely homebrewed world. Most of base 5e is still in place,
with supplements and some alterations. We use a
homebrew crafting system, as well as a homebrew alchemy and herbalism system, critical fumble and success charts, for combat, are in use as well. All
released 5e material, including Unearthed Arcana, is in use if you wish to include any of that for your
character. We roll stats with a 4d6k3 system, though I prefer it to be in the
game world. The party is currently level 4, and with that we use a level by
number of encounters and roll play situations system, XP in 5e doesn't curve
well enough with higher levels I've found. We have a cleric who is attempting
to be a pacifist, though that has changed some already, a Necromancer Wizard,
who though does play 'evil' it's not in a crazy does whatever he want's killing
everyone way, a elemental sorcerer who is a reincarnated wizard's familiar, and
hopefully soon one of our players from last campaign will be back who is
playing a hex-blade (think dark paladin). We don’t need any casters or back
line characters at the moment, we need some kind of front liner, whether that
is some kind of tank or just high dps with moderate armor that is up to you.
As far as the type of player I'm looking for goes, I am looking for someone who is able to play weekly, for the long haul. I plan on keeping this going as long as physically possible, so I am not looking for anyone who wants a couple month long game. We do roll stats as I said before, and I while I won't force you to play with horrid stats, and I understand playing as a very powerful character may be considered more fun, I am not going to allow a player to be overpowered just for the sake of being overpowered and more fun. By level 20, even if you roll average stats, you will be quite powerful. This is a high magic campaign, which means magic loot will be handed out more commonly than in a standard game. And on the last note, the time, Mondays 7pm -
~2am Tuesday Eastern Standard Time, and we use mumble to communicate in game,
skype otherwise. This time is hard set, as we have been playing in this group
since June, and have players from across North America, as well as an Australian
player, so this is the time that works for all of us. So if the time doesn't
work for you, please don't ask for it to be changed, I will just have to
respond with a no, but thank you for your interest. Thank you for reading and
in advance for your applications! Feel free to ask me any questions, and to
post an application with a character idea in a thread or via pm. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/26996/the-world-of-arlos
