Eclipse Phase--player or GM wanted!

I got the book last month, and I've played around a bit, but Eclipse Phase seems to be a pretty niche game! I'm looking for anyone interested, at least for a discussion or to build a contact list of folks who are into the game. If we're lucky, there's a GM out there who likes the system enough to run a game. My weeknights, and occasionally weekend nights are free (I'm in CST in the U.S.), so I'm pretty flexible. I'm an experienced GM with a few other systems and a big fan of the genre, so I'd be willing to run a homebrew game if that's what it takes. We all know you looked into the back of the core book anyways.
I'm a big fan of Eclipse Phase and I've run it at a con before, I'd be happy to either play or run but I'm in Australia (GMT +10) so it might be difficult to schedule.
I am of course interested in some EP. It is a good game, a fairly unique world. I live in GMT-5 (EST). So a few basic time conversions. GMT+10 -> GMT-5 (GMT-6) 6 am -> 3 pm (2 pm) noon -> 9 pm (8 pm) 10 pm -> 7 am (6 am)
There is Dylan Carey and his friend still looking for a game with a fairly well developed concepts for characters. I am considering to run a game, but I feel more safer to run first a pre-made module as I am fairly new to roll20 and though I could say I am experienced storyteller I never run a game in EP yet, so I am not so keen with the rules.
I'd give this a try if there's still room. EST here.
Josh, what time (in your TZ) are you available? If you work a regular 9-5, it could be tough, but maybe you could join us in the middle of the day on a weekend? This is happening. Everybody post any and all availability for December! Include your timezone. Me: Weeknights, and occasionally weekend nights are free (I'd be happy to move plans around for one night a week to try out this game). GMT-6 There's definitely still room. Most of my regular group is married to d20. Since none of us are really veterans with the rules, maybe a smaller group is better? I propose that any of us willing to run a game pitch their concept here, and we can vote. I think we can all be patient and keep a rulebook open while we play, as long as we all know how to roll for combat, skills, etc. I'll post mine in a second comment. Anyone else a fan of Blindsight? That's probably the book that got me into this genre.
My proposal: I'd make some tweaks to the setting--The Fall, The Titans, and much of the background would be the same, but I imagine fewer people surviving--perhaps 2 million, with crippled AI doing most of the 'grunt work' of building and maintaining habitats. The vast majority of people would be in the inner system (particularly Mars), or in the belt, making sure the robots don't get any funny ideas while they're out chomping up asteroids. Things would be much more cyberpunk than Space Opera. I'd probably boil down alot of the luddite and conservative factions to a single "realist" movement--not a centrally controlled terrorist network, but a fanatical and devoted ideology that's also into blowing up "morgues" (backup databases), but is generally fine with augments that don't totally alter the human form. Uploading and backup is less casual--many people can't get over that *this* body fears death and dies, while a duplicate lives on in their place. Some realists go so far as to call these people Doppelgangers, and gladly space them if they can get away with it. Body swapping is still a popular alternative to space travel, and there is a bleeding edge of people who have abandoned 21st century notions of identity and self. Many infugees were rendered insane when their backups were scrammed to orbital databases during the Fall. Too bad they can't always tell which ones... Firewall might be more of a scientific organization, that occasionally needs muscle/expertise--their goals are essentially the same, but they're also looking for humanity's "next step" rather than just putting out fires. PC's would take the role of spies and fixers, with a potential gatecrashing subplot if that's where you wanted to take it. There'd be only one Pandora Gate. It would feature strongly in the plot, although it's nothing but a rumor to most people, and it's location is a closely guarded secret. It's controlled by some not very nice people in the Jupiter neighborhood--and it's the only real reason to go out that far. Luna is an industrial camp, where new habs, reactors, and ships are churned out in the L1 zone. A massive power station orbits the Sun's corona, beaming antimatter around the system (ala, the Icarus array's Telematter system in Blindsight). Anyone who doesn't pay a subscription fee to the Consortium has to make do with He3 fusion and solar power. I'd expect it to last 4-5 sessions, unless it really takes off. Ironically, I'm running a post apocalyptic Pathfinder game right now...
I'd love to play this. I'm free during the evenings CST Thu-Sat.
I am considering to run a game, but I feel more safer to run first a pre-made module as I am fairly new to roll20 and though I could say I am experienced storyteller I never run a game in EP yet, so I am not so keen with the rules. Hey Karasu, where are you from, and what's your availability? I saw your post in the other thread (are there really only like 5 people on here play this game?)--what sort of guidelines would you like for characters, if you ran a game?
I live around London at the moment and my best day on a week would be Sunday I guess, but depends on my shifts and how long we are going to play. And there is more people into EP. We are in game every other Friday, so I am lucky to have the chance to play. Characters? I am thinking to run the game of Ego Hunting and it has a bunch of premade characters, all forks of a person.
@Karasu K, is it critical to Ego Hunting that *only* the premade characters are used? Or could there be a mix? I'd be happy to play one of the forks if it allowed you to use the module. So here's what I've got: Haesken and myself: GMT-6 Scoops: GMT-5 Josh: GMT+10 Karasu: +0 I suggest starting on Sunday afternoon for those of us in the states, which would be late evening for Karasu--Josh, that would be Monday morning for you... Karasu, how late can you go on Sunday night? I think a 3-4 hour game is probably the minimum for a session (at least in a real life table top game). If Josh or Dylan could make that, we'd have 5 people, including a GM--enough for a group, I think.
I have no problems with a premade. Usually they are pretty short. Especially one of that kind. Plus it means we don't have to go through the trouble of character building and can jump right into the game (which is useful for learning roll20). After we have a group of semi-serious EP players, and all the leavers have left, we can move onto a larger (if possibly still short) game. Keep in mine EP is kinda like CoC, and it is possible/likely you will die. It is just not as large of setback. Scoops and Robert: GMT-5
@gfgfdsg: Sadly I work regular 9-5 hours which means I'm available weekday evenings my time and pretty much all weekend most weekends. I'm not sure I could play Monday mornings (or any morning before work), I can just see that there would be lots of occasions where I'd have to shoot off to work just as a session reached its climax. I'd need to sit down and brainstorm a game concept before I pitched anything but historically I tend to run non-firewall stuff. I might run something on a colony on the other side of the gates or with characters who've been outlawed in the outer system. I think it's an excellent idea to play a module with pre-gen characters (EP character gen can take a while) to see how the group works and if our play styles gel before we launch into a longer game.
I also prefer something different than Firewall, like colonist/researcher/scientist, or I do like the nomads in Mars and the Baroomian movement as a theme. Of course with a module it has been already set, but as Josh said it is a good way to test what is our own expectation of a game, what style we really like. It seems this Sunday I can't make it at late night, but next Sunday I could. Still I try to set up a game for the module at this weekend and I send the invitation.
I think I prefer gatecrashing, since you can get away with pretty much anything (personalities/morphs/setting/plot).
Great! Karasu, I'll keep my eyes open for a PM with the invite. I'm really fond of the high "mortality" rate suggested by the base rules--most sci-fi games feel more like Dungeons and Dragons with laser pistols instead of wands of lightning--this is the only one I've seen (besides maybe the old Cyberpunk game) where the rules and mechanics really mesh with the content.
@gfgfdsg Now I do remember how easily you lost your head in Cyberpunk :). My preferred style in storytelling is more about mystery, intrigue, investigations, social interactions than actual fights, but yes, I do like if there is a certain lethality in the game, that often keeps the players in line and make them think twice if they jump into the front of a gun. @Chase Yes, Gatecrashing is good. I suppose I will start with the Ego Hunter as a first game. In Sunday I try to set up the characters you can chose from. If we finish that module we will see how much we liked it and where else to go.

Iam soooo interested. Im free monday, thurs, friday and sat night.
The module is for a max of eight characters so there is some place.
Karasu, if you publish a game/invite us, why don't you just post two or three nights that work for you in the first discussion comment. As Chase says, let the leavers leave. Anyone who can't make those times, maybe organize a second game. It seems like Roll20 is ideal for getting groups together for these somewhat obscure/niche games, so let's stay in touch! FYI, Karasu's at GMT+0/UTC, so calculate your local time accordingly.
Yes, I am GMT +0. I started to set up the game today, but it is far from finished and I am still working on it. But I will send a few invitation.
Hey @Karasu, I'm in, depending on day/time. I'm not usually free until 8 or 9 PM EST, which is when the kids are in bed. If I can only make it to half a session, I'm fine with someone else running my character (assuming that's ok with you). So I'm not sure how compatible my schedule will be with yours, but hopefully I will get a chance to play in your game. It will be interesting to see EP from the other side of the GM's screen. :)
I would love you to be in Phil!

I would love to play a EP game with you guys, just tell me when the next game is. I'm in EST time zone and my weekends are almost always free, weekdays are a bit complicated but i'll try.
We will start a new campaign soon as we almost finished the module of Ego Hunter. As far as it goes now we would play a crew/residents of a scum ship instead the normal Firewall agents, but the setting is still fluid.
Also I do think to run the Ego Hunter once again if there will be enough interest. I just love the module.
Hey, I can both play in or run a game. I have the Continuity module which I have played in several times, both with pregen characters and custom characters. I have also played in several other modules and even custom games, so I am very familiar with the rules. I am in PST, and usually am available anytime except Sundays and Tuesday nights.
I am interested in playing. Are there spots still open? It doesn't seem as anyone has been designated the actual GM but maybe I missed something.
I'd be interested in playing as well. Hopefully there's still slots open.
Hooded, Random, Calvin, I have to prepare for the campaign, but as far as it seems there would be some open spaces left. I will keep in touch with you.
Hey Karasu, it has been almost 2 weeks since you posted that. I am just wondering if there is an update on the status of the game and if there will be slots afterall. Thanks ahead of time.
How crap i love the sound of Eclipse phase Can i plz play
I'd love to play! I'm free weekends and evenings EST.
