Do people only play fantasy ttrpgs?

I've noticed that a large part of Lfg is fantasy, sure SW is seen some times, but older games like Cyberpunk 2020 and the like I've never seen.

They do make up the bulk of what people play.  Additionally not all games make it into LFG, older games played by veteran players who already have a group they are just porting into the digital world aren't going to show up as often as they may be played.  the Roll20 quarterly report is a good guideline to what's being played.

Webzy, there are a wide variety of genre's being played on roll20. Gebriel has the gist of it. Feel free to make a looking for group post in our LFG forum about what you are wanting to play.
World of Darkness is 75% ish based on Modern settings, you'll get the odd 1880's Cowboy themed game or the Dark Ages... and the rarer still further back or forward. Anything based around DnD/Pathfinder will be a fantasy setting and is aprox 45% of the players here. Warhammer 40k is 100% based in the future whilst the Fantasy setting is naturally close to that of DnD with its own quirks.

Well, World of Darkness has games set in the Dark Ages, the Renaissance (Mage: the Sorcerer's Crusade), the old west (Werewolf: the Wild West), and modern-day. All of the  D20 system games are essentially based on D&D 3/3.5. That's going to include things like D20 Modern and magipunk settings like Spelljammer.

If you keep track of the ones currently running, I would argue that 75% was a low percentile. Most of the current GM's don't run Dark Ages, but stick within the 1900's or 2000's (Using 1st/2nd or 20th rules). When one pops up it either sits there waiting for ages or is taken from behind straight away and vanishes due to people wanting to try out the 'new' 20th rules for that setting. DnD and Pathfinder is entirely Fantasy, unless you homebrew. D20 modern and the others are not DnD - they are the 3.5 system modified.  To the original poster - if you want something that isn't Fantasy related, I would recommend looking up the list of games we can currently put up ... so for example, good old Googling "DnD" would tell you the versions, what's currently the latest etc. Then proceed to specifically look up the version you want to play. In the case of World of Darkness, you'll have issues based on the simple fact the team here can't tell the difference between CWoD and NWoD - or choose not to care due to the low population (It's like comparing DnD 3.5 to 4th edition). So you'll have to read the games information as you come across them.

This is wandering far afield now.  Webzy, you've been pointed at the Orr Report to see what people are playing.  Make sure to check the Looking For Group Tool and Looking for Group Forum daily for games that may be of interest to you.  Be sure to completely fill out your User Profile . Your Bio is where you have a chance to catch a GM's eye with a well-written statement about yourself Enjoys Playing is important for two reasons: Every entry you put here is a data-point for The Orr Group Industry Report, and it lets other people looking at your profile know a bit more about you Actively Seeks Group For is where you can add yourself to the Player Directory for systems you want to play Good luck to you and happy gaming!
