As the title suggests. I am interested in seeing if there are enough people out there interested in participating in a Zombie Apocalypse RPG. The Session will be as realistic as possible and completely custom made. I need at least 5 people willing to participate. Willing to DM over multiple groups. Have several ideas and plenty of time to design a world that will be fun and very open. I have been a DM for over 14 years and have ran a couple sessions on roll20. Will consider buying Premium Membership again if interest in this Campaign is large. Just respond in this topic. All I request is that your over 18. (Some of the content will be extremely violent, profane and graphic) I am open to Newcomers as this will be realistic and not fantasy based. Thanks! Prologue Tensions continue to rise around the world as war in the Middle East intensifies. Terrorism has been ever increasing and the threat of nuclear war is on the horizon. With several countries involved with NATO and the Untied Nations pulling out of the never ending war against ISIS and the Russian influence increasing with Syria and surrounding countries; the US began to advance warfare in a different direction unbeknownst to the population at large. Biochemical Warfare became the main focus of a Multi National group spearheaded by the USA, France, and Britain. The alliance was code named Genesis, the project The Revelation Project (TRP). Transforming the CDC into a militarized enterprise viruses began to be genetically engineered. Man made strains of deadly viruses were dispersed in known enemy locations. Areas with civilian population were given vaccines to the weapons prior to attacks to avoid unnecessary casualties. As time wore on, the effect was tremendously successful. It appeared the effort against terrorism and the United States enemies was finally coming to a close. Little did anyone know, TRP created an enemy far greater then anyone has ever faced... March 16th 2016 "Victory" With the Middle East stabilized and control of the area under the reigns of the U.N. Soldiers began to come home. Against the vote of Congress, President Obama initiated the Refugee Act of 2016. Allowing over 20,000 refugees of the war torn area to immigrate to the US and settle in major cities around the country. All soldiers and refugees prior to returning were forced to stay in an Interment Camps for testing and vaccinations against the weapons used in the regions. The population at large still was ignorant to the extent of tactics used and was under the impression a large scale military force was the main reason of the wars victory. April 2nd 2016 "Answers" The hacker group known as Anonymous who had previously posted in several forums the CDC's files that were once easily attainable had become hack proof and was very suspicious finally accessed the companies files hidden under filename TRP. A video uploaded across every media sharing site displayed footage of the war involving dispersal of biochemical warfare. Mutated strains of Smallpox, rabies, bubonic, and Ebola show varying results all deadly to the enemy. Despite the Governments effort to take down the video and information the Media outlets began feverishly reporting on the atrocities. April 28th 2016 "Consequences" President Obama was forced to resigned in the face of impeachment. Both him and several Generals and officers involved with the authorizing of Biochemical Warfare face war crimes. Senator Everest Morgan is elected President. May 4th 2016 "Contagious" Reports of a flu like sickness is widely reported throughout the US. Other countries report a similar sickness. Mortality Rate of unknown sickness is the highest recorded of any previously known contagion. Flights in and out of Several large countries and states within the US are grounded and banned. Reports indicate zones with high infection rates appear to be that of the refugee camps previously set up to house those brought from overseas. Some military bases also report similar findings. May 21st 2016 "No Choice" The virus begins to spread out of control. Major cities are overwhelmed due to high populations. Videos begin to appear all over showing attacks, people behaving extremely violent in large groups. Media coins the attacks to that of "Zombie" like individuals. President Morgan with reluctant approval orders Modified Thermobaric Missile (MTM) strikes engineered to target only organic material on Heavily infected areas with advanced warning from those not infected to relocate to outer surrounding cities well outside the blast radius. May 25th 2016 "Failsafe" A day in which the world truly stood still, the US along with several other countries throughout the world launched MTM missiles against their on land in an attempt to stem the rising infection. Casualties were incalculable, military efforts to clear out the infected individuals who escaped the blasts began. While the remainder of the population attempts to deal with what lies ahead. With a virus still on the rampage, a military indiscriminately killing anyone who appears to be infected and a country falling apart at the seams who will survive? Will you become a leader and group together with survivors and help rebuild what has been lost? Will you take advantage of the situation at hand and become a ruthless tyrant looking to gain from others loss? Or will you attempt to uncover the truth behind the disaster and hold those accountable?

What system do you use or base off of for your zombie game. When i run mine I ussally use D20 Modern with "The Virus Variant rules" for zombies?
It will be a variant of D&D 3.5 utilizing the D20 system . All info regarding enemies, weapons, structures, etc will be posted inside of The Roleplay. Additionally I will be holding "meetings" using skype prior to the sessions beginning to get a feel what the participating players want included and what they can expect to encounter in the roleplay session.
I'm interested as well. When will this be happening?
I am also interested depending on day/time.
Count me in as long as you're not running past 12 EST or on sundays.
I want at least 5 dedicated people showing interest, which means about 7 people would need to post because I'm sure there are gonna be a couple people that drop out prior to us starting. Once we hit that number I poll you guys on whats times/dyas work best and then pick the one that works for most if not all of us. When we get to that point Ill give you guys a character sheet template, what to expect, and a time frame/date in which we will have our first session.
I'd be interested, depending on the time and day as well as if it's weekly, biweekly, etc... I'd much rather it be a weekly personally.
I'm interested in joining this group also.
I'm super interested.
Ok, it appears we have more then enough interest in the Homebrew. So Im gonna ask a few questions of you guys regarding how I am going to shape this Story. Your feedback will greatly impact what I do so please dont be shy in answering. Short or Long answers are both welcomed :) Time Period?: We can go as Far back as medieval. As forward as Deep Space 9. The Time period question is more so for weaponry, armor, etc. Harry Potter?: We can get as weird as you guys wanna get. If you guys wanna do a Lord of the rings, Game of Thrones style Zombie Apocalype with Magical Abilities and the such is fine by me. Extent of Plague: Do you guys wanna start right when shits hitting the Fan? Midway through? Or some of the very last survivors around? Type of Virus: Do you guys want a strict Walking Dead (Slow and Dumb) style Zombie Apoc? Perhaps Dying Light? (Things get crazy at night, and there are more then just zombies after you) or Resident Evil? (Theres some crazy mutated shit eating my mailbox) The Virus: How hardcore do you guys want this to be? Bites depeding on severity and location can be dealt with? (Amputation, Medicine/Magic, etc) Or Spells eventual doom for that character. ( In any case of severity every character during creation will have a Immune Roll that determines if your character is Immune to the Virus itself. (If you guys dont want it to Severe I will increase the chance of immunity on roll. Duration of Story: How long do you guys want this to last? We can do a set amount of sessions or keep it going. I dont care I just need a rough idea of commitment to know how much content I need to make. Whatever you guys want lemme know Ill try my best to incorporate what appears to be the majority!
PM'd you
Interested depending on time and day. Prefer either the 2000's setting or the medieval one. Shit hitting the fan i think is the most interresting though they all sound fun. If it's fun the duration can be as long as people want, longer the better.
Definitely down for this, if I can fit it in my schedule.
Mormaethor said: Definitely down for this, if I can fit it in my schedule. Schedules have not been decided yet, gonna talk with everyone first and see what I can come up with, may do two different groups if the times are to varying. But go ahead and please fill out what you wanna see in the Homebrew from the post I put up above!
I'm open most weekdays except wednesday. Really interested, though a bit rusty. Medival or 2000 would be best, as time setting goes, and midway through or last survivors. I'd prefer it being only zombies, but being rather intense, though no stupidly crazy mutations. The virus strength doesn't matter to me much, and I'd prefer this to last a while.
Ill keep up suggestions till tomorrow evening. Then compile what I have and let you guys know whats next. Thanks again for the interest :)
Ok Ive gathered enough responses from you guys to come up with a Prologue to give a general description of what you guys are getting into. This will also let you begin to decide who and what your character is going to be about. I will have it up in a bit. I am still looking for people so feel free to still sign up. Once everyone is on board. I will create the session and begin inviting the people who are still wanting to participate. Thanks Again!
Zombie killer at large oover to many zombies killed to count from roleplaying systems i like to join death to more zombie save the inicent and try to keep the dum npcs alive with out being bitten what time game played ?.

I wouldnt mind giving this a go. I have very little experience with tabletop rpgs.
Nick said: I wouldnt mind giving this a go. I have very little experience with tabletop rpgs. It being a Homebrew (Custom not truly abiding fully by a ruleset) and the fact its based off real life and not fantasy (like Lord of the RIngs with magic or different Races) It will a lot easier for you as a newcomer. Plus I am real good with teaching newbies so no worries. :)
You still taking applications for this? I would love to be a part of this one, just can't get enough zombies.
Lex S. said: You still taking applications for this? I would love to be a part of this one, just can't get enough zombies. Yes Sir, if you have read the Prologue provided please begin deciding what type of character you want to play. Invites go out tomorrow to everyone who has expressed interest.
I express interest. But i fear we have very different timezones.
Is it too late to get in on this? It sounds like its going to be a lot of fun.
This is the Join Link to the actual Game. https://app.roll20.net/join/1148583/rPG2GQ At this time anyone that has not responded in this forum I am curently asking that you do not join. I need to see how many that have already showed interest actually join. Thanks.
FYI: You really shouldn't post blind join links to the public forums.
