We are looking for a specific type of players so before you jump into applying, please read the whole thread ;) First of all, once the final party is formed, I’m hoping (and targeting for) that party to last. So although I have some plans for a certain campaign we can discuss, we can also look for different ideas depending on the general mood. Sunday is the preferred day but we may be able to work with a different one. The time on the other hand is final (unless you want a small variation within +2 hours). Before I describe the process of collecting the party, let’s be clear on what kind of players we need. These elements are very important and I believe them necessary to the kind of game we are looking to play: Be excited about Pathfinder and Roleplaying. It’s important that you don’t play it out of habit or because you used to like it once but because you really want to play right now. Roleplay. You need to want to roleplay and want to live in the campaign through your character, not just observing him. Be creative. If you intent to play a big barbarian with a great axe that kills everything in one hit, this is not the game for you. I’m looking for players that find interest and satisfaction in solving their problems with creative ways and trust me, I will certainly support this kind of actions. Have fun with everyone else. If everyone is feeling that in order to have fun they need to create a fun environment for everyone, then everyone is going to have fun. If you only play for yourself or ever worst, on the expense of others, you are certainly not welcome in this party. Understand the need for rules but don’t obsess with them. Rules help and make managing the whole world easier, but sometimes they can be against logic, or they are simply not clear enough. In such times I will have to make a decision in order to move on and keep the pace. If it is against what you hoped, find a different way to achieve it, don’t spend hours arguing about it. Even if the DM is wrong, be a bit understanding, we are still humans :p Engage and manage your characters. I will expect certain things from your part in regards to your characters. It may be a background or personality description, keeping track of your inventory, prepared spells etc. I don’t do that just to give you homework but because it helps me to do my job better. For example it’s easier to create plot hooks when I know your characters and it is beneficial to you when I know that you lack certain weapons/potions/etc you should have. So as you expect me to prepare for every session, I will expect you to work with me on keeping track of certain things and make them known to me. Don’t min-max. Interesting characters have flaws. You should of course make sure that you are useful to the party but do not obsess about maximizing your diplomacy/bluff or attack/damage or any other number in your sheet. I want players who will embrace their characters weaknesses and embed them to their roleplaying creating interesting personalities. Now, the process of collecting the party. First, we are going to try an one-shot at level 3. With your application you can sent me a character sheet (point buy 20, preferably on mythweavers, online sheet where I can follow any changes you make easily). Of course you may want to hold on for that and see what kind of characters the rest of the group has in order to cover some basic needs easier. When the one shot is complete, we are going to discuss about how everyone thinks the party works and if everyone is happy with its chemistry so far. Note that it is by far preferable to say that you do not enjoy yourself in this party instead of trying to be polite and hold your thoughts. The whole point is for everyone to have fun, if you don’t, then I’m sure there is a different party that will be perfect for you. Like I mentioned above, once the party is complete and we are all happy with it, we will start a campaign. I’m thinking about one that is based on Skulls and Shackles but this is not final. I think I should also mention that the final party will probably be around 3-4 Players + a DM. Smaller parties make sure that everyone has a chance to stay on the spotlight and none will be waiting for too long to do his thing. In order to apply just add me to Skype ( e.l.d@live.com ) and we can talk more there. Also note that we will use a voice call during the sessions. So a microphone is necessary and a headset is preferred (to reduce echo). If there are any more questions you would like to ask, feel free. We have enough players to proceed for now. I hope it works with the people gathered so far but if it turns out that there are empty places for extra members after the one-shot I'm going to let you know and bump the thread.
