All the spells are gone.

So the other day i was working on some NPC's for a game, when all of a sudden i'm pulled away from my game, and into another game that i'm in where some friends were working on characters on the newer sheets. I figure "huh, that was weird" and back out to go back to my own campaign to get back to work on my NPC's. As i scroll down a character sheet of a sorcerer NPC for reference, i notice that every name and school of every spell he had was gone. The discriptions in the "show discription" box was fine, as was ever other aspect of the character, but all the spell names and schools were missing. i look on the cleric NPC's sheet, same thing. i check the player's sheets, no spells. i check the sheets of players who aren't even in my spesific group, no spells. i check the sheets of characters that had to be put on hold as their players took a haitus, no spells. Somehow all of my campain's spells just up and vanished. and with all the work i've been putting into this thing to finish it off over the past two weeks, i seriously do not need the extra stress. IS there anything that can be done to help? Reddit thread where i brought this up earlier:&nbsp;<a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/Roll20/comments/3y10vu/all_the_spells_are_gone/" rel="nofollow">https://www.reddit.com/r/Roll20/comments/3y10vu/all_the_spells_are_gone/</a>

Tam, sorry to hear you are having a problem so before we start with the general troubleshooting guide, can you answer some questions? All the work you were doing on the sheets, Did you save them before you were pulled away? Also can you describe what you mean by "pulled away"? Did you have multiple tabs open and accidentally closed the wrong one? Did you accidentally use a keystroke to make your browser go back to another page you were on previously? Just trying to understand what has happened first then we can see about how to help you.

as far as i'm aware, everything i'm in the process of writing does not get saved, while everything i had previously written did, so like, writing the "ba-" of backpack would not get saved while the word "bedroll" one line up would. and that's about what i was doing. i was writing the ability's of a barbarian out, and was in the middle of a sentance when i was randomly pulled into annother campain. When i came back to the one i was working on, the sentance i was in the process of writing had been wipes, while the previous ability i had written not five secconds earlier was fine. it's possible i somehow hit some keystroke that sent me into a previous page? but given that i was in the process of typing, i'm not sure how possible that would be... i only had one roll 20 tab open, and i beleive i had visited the campain i was pulled into previously, so i'm assuming that is wat happened. though i'm fairly sure there were more pages between the campain i was in and the one i was pulled too, so i'm unsure hw one bad keystroke puled me into a seperate game entirely.

What sheet were you using? If it was the Pathfinder Simple sheet, a bug was introduced by the sheet author that accidentally pointed at the wrong area for spells. The data for the spells isn't gone, it's just not being displayed correctly. The sheet author has been in contact with us and a fix is coming soon.
I'm not sure exactly what sheet it is, just a pathfinder one. Probably the simple one, as the newer one with the different tabs you need to navigate through to find different things like your stats, attack bonus, and armor class is much too complex. This one has it where it's all conveniently on one page for you.
Is it safe to keep working on new sheets and NPC's? Or would all of that information be erased if/when the spells are fixed?

Character data is never erased by character sheet changes. It's all still on the Attributes and Abilities tab. That said, no I don't think anything was affected other than spells, and that should be fixed Soon TM. It is X-mas Eve here and so there's not a lot of movement.

I'm not seeing anything that resembles the spell names, but whatever you say i guess. just so long as we get our spells back by sunday. and wether or not something other then spells was affected was never a question, as i could quite clearly see that. the question was what happened to them and how to fix it.

Tam. &nbsp;I made an update to the sheet a few days ago to add additional damage mods for attacks. &nbsp;I thought I would also update the sheet to account for the new repeating section features from Roll20. &nbsp;I made a mistake when changing the repeating attributes (spells) which was not discovered until after the update went live. &nbsp;I applied a proposed fix (hangs head low in shame), which actually didn't entirely fix my initial mistake. &nbsp;I've made what I believe will be the final fix which was merged this morning. &nbsp; We have to wait for the servers to make this patch live and with fingers crossed the issue will be resolved. &nbsp; As Steve mentioned, the attributes are all still there for spells, I just broke the "link" between the sheet and the repeating attributes. &nbsp;I would wait to enter any Spell data, since the attribute names that are currently in use are incorrect will be rolled back to their proper names when the patch is made live. &nbsp; You may safely make any other changes however. Appologies for the inconvenience.

Vince's fix for the sheet should have just gone out. Let us know if there are any issues.
Still nothing. i'll give it a day or so to see if it updates on it's own somehow.

Tam, I've had a report from another sheet user that tonight's update fixed the "un-linked" spell attributes. &nbsp; As a test I also replicated the entire process of having a character with spells from the old sheet, then opening the sheet using the messed up code where all my spell data was missing except for the description, to finally reopening the sheet using tonight's update and everything was back. &nbsp; Maybe try clearing your browser cache and reloading a campaign(s) to check...? Again, very sorry for messing things up.
Hmm, so good news is that all the player-character spells are back. the only one's who don't have spells back are the NPC's i was working on when all of this started, but there are only two of them, so if their spells don't eventually come back it shouldn't be too hard to re-list them. thanks!
Wonderful! Glad we could get you back to a great place. I'll resolve this note, but if you need more help feel free to start a new thread.
