Best way to implement Character Sheets?

I heard Google Documents is the best work around. Is this true?

A lot of people have taken to using Google docs, yes. It's pretty convenient since you can have your players share the sheet with the DM. I've also set up a "session notes" document and one player each session takes notes. That way we can all refer back to it later and I can correct spelling for proper names (Fantasy city names sometimes get pretty weird). :) You could also use a service like <a href="http://www.obsidianportal.com/" rel="nofollow">http://www.obsidianportal.com/</a> which offers free accounts where you can input your characters and make a wiki. The character's section has "Dynamic Character Sheets" for a lot of different systems or you can just type all the info in yourself.

So do you need to be using the google hangout to use the google docs? Sorry for the questions, I just want to make sure I know how to make everything work. I'll take a look at Obsidian Portal. Thanks.

No you don't need to be on google hangouts to use google docs. I rarely run games on Hangout, preferring to use that native program and Skype, but still use google docs for all character sheets.

Meepers, Google docs is really easy as far as I've found. Everyone *does* need to have a Google account, but you can set that up in no time. I think they changed the name to Google Drive, actually, but your drive account stores all sorts of things. One of the options is to share the document, so each player can share with their GM. You can even upload things you created in other programs like Word and Excel.
