Celebrating 30 years of Roleplaying!! DnD basic (BECMI/ Cyclopedia)

Hey all, I've been doing this roleplaying thing for 30 years now and I'm looking for players to help me celebrate this fact and go back to the very first game that I started with, red box DnD (BECMI edition). I'm based in the UK and looking to play from 7.30pm for 3 hours or so 1 day a week Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. It doesn't matter if you've never played as long as you are willing to learn and have fun. The two adventures I have lined up are In Search of the Unknown and Nights Dark Terror, but other adventures will be added if all goes well.

Hm, I'm interested. I've never played Basic but am very familiar with AD&D and 3e so I'm sure I'd feel right at home. However, not sure what time 7:30 your time would add up to here on the West Coast of NA...

Are you using original rules or do you add a home-brewed flavor to them ? I never played red box DND but I played Swords&Wizardry which is based on the original white box edition and I also have a limited experience with 2e/3.5 so I think I would be able to learn and adapt to the rules pretty easily. The Europe friendly time and a GM with a British accent are also to big pluses for me. So if you are in need of players please don't hesitate to send me a message.

First I forgot to mention that I plan on using Skype to do this. # Secondly, I believe that US times are around 7-9 hours earlier, the world clock will help determine this. Thirdly, I plan on running this pretty much by the book but there are a few minor twists that I remember from when I first played. This is mostly just Initiative rules being more like 3rd edition. Nothing too radical.

I would be interested, especially if it's 4-5 players max (stuff takes a bit too long with more imo but I don't mind). I'm a beginner, currently doing one other D&D campaign and that's it. Times are cool with me, would prefer Tuesday or Wednesday over Monday. What books would I need as a player by the way?

I plan on having around the 4-5 player number. That being said, it's not essential to have these but is handy if you want spell descriptions etc.

I would be very interested as BECMI is pretty much how I got introduced to D&amp;D and RPGs as a kid. Times are reasonably cool with me as well.&nbsp;

Ok, does anyone have an idea what class they want to play?

Shouldn't we like roll for stats on the first session and decide then? I don't really mind playing any class. By the way, is this gonna be a campaign here on roll20 (for rolls and stuff) or did you mean just skype exclusively?

true, I just wanted to get get and idea so we don't have a party of Magic Users or such. I'm using Roll20 for all dice rolls, maps etc and Skype just as a means to talk to each other.

Hello, I can be classified an old gamer ( 18 years), very familiar with ad&amp;d but not d&amp;d. I am in Turkey; GMT+2. Is it a hack and slash, one shoot game ? It is no more fun for me, I mean just to fight.&nbsp; If there is RP included, I would like to join.

are you accepting new players and in new players I mean new players to the hobby. I am 29 from Massachusetts so that is est time I have looked through the basic handbook&nbsp;and I have time to study it more. &nbsp;

im happy to accept new players, DnD was my first game so it seems only fitting. im using the basic adventures but plan on filling then out a little more with roleplay and plot. its likely to be 7pm on a tuesday using skype.

I am down with this what is your time zone so I could figure out what that is for me and role playing has drawn me more to this hobby after playing so many imagination games with my 3 little ones it has inspired me to open my mind up in a&nbsp; more mature but exciting way.

that time would be perfect for me for it would be 11pm here. do you have any idea when you will start this adventure. and is there anything you would need from me soon or to discuss like characters you would want in game or anything like that.
