Since a lot of people seem to be locked out of the lfg page, i'll edit the blurb here while I try to figure it out. ------------------------------------------- I vow to share my light with the world To illuminate the night so others won’t have to see the dark To Ignite the flame in others so that they may join my war To give my entire life to the order’s cause From now, till the day I burn out ~The vow of the society Arana
is a holy city in the nation of Olan. It is the headquarter of the
church of the light father, the dominant religion in the world. The
church teaches that in the beginning of the universe, everything was
dark and demons ruled the world. This all changed when the light father
descended from the heavens, recreating the world with his radiance and
bringing forth the age of men, banishing the demons away into the abyss. Thousands
of years later, in an age where mankind prospered from the rise of
science and logic, these scriptures are viewed as nothing more than
tales. Unknown to the public, however, demons still exist. They have
been hiding in the dark corners of the land, and some even managed to
exist amongst humans without being discovered, preying upon god’s chosen
people from the shadows. Humanity, however, is not without its
defenders. Among these guardians are members of the Candlelight Society,
a secret organization that recruits and trains people from all walk of
life who hunts demons. The Candlelight Society’s reach is far and they
are sponsored by some very influential members of the church and the
government, providing them with the best means to fight their adversary,
from the finest weapons and firearms to ancient tomes of magic kept in
their hidden chapter houses all across Olan. This is their story
as they try to desperately live two lives, one in a world of ignorance,
where the life of men and women are governed by the oppressive laws of
culture and propriety and another of freedom and truth, yet one where
death lurks in every corner. Recently, a string of deaths
appeared all throughout the city. In each one, the victim was found with
exactly one specific body part missing. Some lost an arm, some a leg,
others were found without eyes and one man was said to be found without
his genitals. The police declared it an act of a derranged murderer, an
insane surgeon, but the candlelight society believes the case to be
supernatural and sent a group of young agents to investigate. ---------------------------------- Hey everyone. I decided to do a short campaign to get my 5th ed cravings
satisfied. This game will be 4-5 sessions tops with a chance of
continuing for a second season if things go right. It will be quite
roleplay heavy and focused on victorian era drama on one side and
action-horror on the other. Both sides of the characters lives will be
explored and I might do side quests for individual players before the
main game begins in mid to late january 2016. I prefer players
who are fammiliar with Victorian era English culture (if you read Jane
Austen/Charles dickens/Conan Doyle, you're automatically put on the
short list of players :P) and those who enjoys role playing as much as
combat encounters. The characters allowed are humans only (human
variant allowed), point buy 20.I will choose players based on their
character's background story and time availability. I am at GMT+7 and I
normally play at my nights. I can DM on any day except fridays. I am
hoping for 4 players max. Ideally a mix of male and female characters
seeing as I am interested in exploring the life of both genders during
the era. This campaign will include adult themes such as drugs,
alcohol and yes, even sex and sexuality, but they will be treated very
differently within and outside of the society. Whereas all these things
are considered taboo in Olanian society, within the candlelight society,
they are viewed as normal. If interested, please post your
character's background story here and state your available times. I'm
going to post information about the setting's culture and history on
another thread, so if you're interested, do check it out, might help you
with character designs. Thank you for reading and I hope we'll have fun.
