Hello, everyone. I am a new(ish) D&D player, looking for
a group that is not only welcoming to said new(ish) players, but one that will
also lend a helping hand with any questions that I may have so that I can
become a better player.
First things first, I have some familiarity with the D&D
world itself, strictly because I have grown up playing the computer/video
games, so while I am not 100% on the actual mechanics, I still have an idea of
what to expect and what’s going on around me. As far as the actual mechanics
go, I have been doing my best to read up and research on it so that I won’t be
as lost when I begin, versus just blindly waddling into a game with the
expectation of being taught everything.
Now, that all being said, I have an idea of what kind of
character I would like to play, but I think I might need some help refining
them, as well as just making sure that I properly added all the numbers, and
maybe some help with inventory and whatnot, as these are all things that seem…minuscule
in the actual video games, but quite important to keep track of in the tabletop
versions. So, another thing that I might need help with.
Now, the type of character I’m interested in playing is
likely a Tiefling Sorcerer, and after sifting through a pdf of the 5e player’s
handbook (I have been unable to get my hands on a physical copy just yet), I feel like I might also need some help. Possibly with the spells,
reassurance on how that works, and so on. And, well, as for availability, I know week by week, and my
work schedule is quite chaotic. It is hectic and sometimes changes last minute,
and this is all stuff that I don’t necessarily have control over at all times. So, week by week, my availability will change, depending on
what I have going on that morning, night, or next day.
But, long story
short:
- Time zone is US
Central time, though my work schedule changes week by week, so planning may be
necessary a week in advance for new games;
- The type of
character I’m looking to play is (likely) a Tiefling Sorcerer and;
- I’m looking for a 5e-based group who is welcoming to new players, as well as possibly helpful in teaching
me how to become a better player, and willing to possibly help make sure that I’ve
effectively made the character properly. In terms of numbers and whatnot,
anyways. Overall, just a group willing to help.
If there are any questions, please let me know. If I’ve
missed any information, also let me know as well. I am also willing to discuss and speak via skype, in which
case, just message me for my skype name and let me know what yours is ahead of
time. Thank you!
