Satisfy My Chattiness: Favorite Maps/Tiles/Tokens Sets?

Just as a matter of curiosity, and as a way to better familiarize myself with the community, what is everyone's favorite looks/sets to use in a game? Any particular aesthetic that you prefer? A favorite marketplace artist?

Personally I like a lot of them but when I want a wide range of beautiful art assets, take a look at Gabriel Pickard marketplace work.

Pat S. said: Everyone of his is worth the money. Agreed. I have several of his woods sets, the boat set, and the crumbling wall set. Gabriel definitely has a lot of incredible sets. I've also collected sets from Rhyannon, Paul Ooshun, Stephen Shomo, Phillip Wright, Jan Loos, Joshua Kurz, Melanie Paterson, (my own of course, lol), Devin Knight and several other artists. Love to combine different styles for different purposes. And this year, there are so many more artists in the market, I'm looking forward to purchasing more. It really depends on what styles you enjoy. Been eyeing some of Menet's steampunk skyships here lately - love the sails :D

Let me take this welcomed opportunity to praise a few of the other marketplace content creators who I really admire: First is Gabriel, already mentioned above, whose quality is matched only by the incredible output he achieves. His work is without a doubt a cornerstone of the Marketplace. Secondly the wide ranging and gorgeous map-work of R.A.Hapke, which, when combined with Tiled, creates rich and vivid campaign maps: https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/search?keywo... Phillip Wright is one of my favourite artists and has a very substantial catalogue of work to draw from: https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/search?keywo... For ingenuity, the redoubtable Stephen Shomo cannot be beaten. Dungeon Draw/Mapper is sheer Roll20 sorcery, and I have no doubt he made some dreadful bargain with nameless things in order to create this: https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/search?keywo... If I could absorb the talent of one artist from the Marketplace, I think I would pick Fernando Dominguez, for the absolute beauty that goes into these tokens: https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/search?keywo... Devin Night, as far as I'm aware, is the father of VTT tokens and has a massive range available on almost any VTT platform I've come across. Finally Grae Hunter is whipping up many batches of awesome tokens, but I particularly loved his Dragons: https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/search?keywo... I kind of want to mention many more but this is probably already a little long :)

A set that really caught my eye is 2-Minute Table Top's city buildings. The hand-drawn style just really looks nice to me. They seem to be a new artist though, it's the set of theirs that I've seen.

I think you are correct, and 2-minute might be a new artist to the market. Very exciting to see more hand drawn style sets! With over 700 different sets, plus all the modules, there is definitely a great amount of art to pool from.

I love all the work of the artists listed but one of the more fascinating ones is old world sets of Russ Hapke .

And then there is that Paul Ooshun guy!!! I love his 1920's packs . But be careful with his stuff; you let a single Dungeon Buddie on your maps.... and they take over. As to Russ Hapke I like his stuff, but where is the bamboo? I mean really, why doesn't he like pandas? Hope Russ never plays a "real" druid, not sure I would find it credible.

Now away with your wizarding magic box manipulation ways!!! (Stephen, LOVING the latest project you've been working on and seeing how it is developing!). And really, who can resist the uber cuteness of the Dungeon Buddies...they shall rule the world!...or so I've heard...next to squirrels, the most feared predator of them all.
