D&D 5th Ed. Sunday Afternoons CST

Hoping to find at least 3 more for a new campaign. Looking for experienced players who enjoy a relaxed but serious game. If interested let me know a little about yourself and your preferred play style. It would be great to hear some character concepts as well.
Hey, 2 other players and myself would be interested in joining your campaign. We have already played together before, so keeping it interesting wouldn't be a problem. We've been playing 5 years, 3 of which we played together. As for playing characters, we can pretty much be whatever the party needs. That being said, we generally play classes like monk/thief/wizard/warlock. As for playing our actual players roleplay-wise, we enjoy unique and interesting characters as opposed to making boring, overpowered and typically bland characters. An example, recently we played as three half-elf brothers that were cold-case criminals. One being a thief who scouts out our target/gathers info/steals stuff, one monk who was pretty much the brawn when it came to fighting (usually being the one who does the killing), and one warlock who makes sure ends meet (covers up evidence, bribes officials, that sort of thing). Even with an 'evil' story like this, we keep it light by having our characters have different 'personas' they act out in public (allowing us to stay serious but also not bore everyone with the grimdark stuff). Anyways, Sunday afternoons are pretty much perfect for us, as long as it happens sometime after 5pm CST.
I'm actually hoping to play a bit earlier than that, I was thinking of starting more between 11-1pm CST and playing 3-4 hours.
Are you thinking weekly?
Yes
I am extremely interested in you session. I am in my early 20's and have been playing DnD since 3.5 all the way to for 5e. I am free a great portion of the week, so if we can't have a session for any reason, I would be able to reschedule. My preferred character (Only been this type for 5 years..) is a rogue, your typical thief/assassin. My characters play with the advantage of being quiet and revealing very little, while taking in every piece of information, I am very meticulous and plan out everything perfectly before deciding to make a move. There will be almost no situation where I wont have a back-up plan or an escape plan.
I am interested in joining if we can get a group together. I live EST and can make this time. Hoping to find a consistent, dedicated group. I am an experienced player in early 20's. Currently playing a rogue in a different campaign and looking to play any other class. As a player I enjoy roleplaying more than the combat itself. I tend to be more vocal in my combat and try to encourage creative attacks rather than "I stab the enemy for 8 piercing damage." I tend to play neutral characters with different ambitions and motives in each campaign I run. Additionally, I try to stay away from the stereotypical class backgrounds. Been hoping to play a monk. Not a typical monk but more of an exiled monk. Maybe former Shaolin monk who doesn't seek to find balance but to MAKE the world balanced. Thinking something like a paladin's mentality towards pagans but not so restricted.  Hopefully this post is still active, and we can get something going soon!
Love this time slot.  I've been playing since '82 (with about a twenty year break in there).  Enjoying 5e more and more. I dig Clerics.
ive never played dnd before but i am a keen learner and have experience in the dragon age tabletop game. at any rate heres my bit about me My name is Jamie, im 26 years old, from the UK, full time game design student at university and love all forms of games and finding a bigger passion for tabletop games over the last couple of years ( never had the chance to play it due to my social circle never being interested)  As a player im quite a big roleplayer id say personally. i stick to my character for most things unless someone wants to know something a little more specific ect, im not a by the books kind of player since that games of this nature dont always necessarily go according to the rules set in place.  since ive never played dnd 5e before ive been looking to get involved in it for a while now but not being able to find a group or the time until recently. Im a quick learner and a serious player. as for actual game preferences, i do enjoy chatting with npcs and exploring the world as much as a good combat encounter as well as having some character development banter between the party members.  since again, ive never played dnd before i dont know what kind of character to go for. I am usually the sword and shield kind of guy in the games i play and enjoy that role thoroughly. for the characters backstory for himself/ herself, i have a few ideas in mind. one being a former smiths apprentice who is cast out after his master mysteriously turns up dead with his friends and family thinking he killed his master one evening! or another character who was a waitress/ serving maid in a bar and gets fed up with drunken dullards berating her and trying to take advantage and rather wants to take advantage of the world and those around her. What i lack in experience i make for up in determination and gusto. I hope I can join as i have been wanting to try d and d for years now and havent until now because of again, lack of a sufficient circle to do this properly. thanks much for reading and i apologise for any grammatical errors i may have had a few ciders prior to reading this forum post :) Jamie Yull
Hey, What kind of campaign are you thinking of running?  Boxed adventure?  Home-made campaign? Anyways, this is something I'd like to play in.  The time-slot works for me and I'm a pretty 'serious' gamer.  I, you know, read the rulebooks and know what my spells do and stuff.  I've been a DM for years and years and would LOVE to be a player.  I'm in my 30s and I'm a pretty good team player. I'm a pretty balanced player, I like roleplay (I think it's vital), I enjoy combat, I don't really enjoy mysteries in D&D games though.  I like to read the books, get ideas and work with my DM to create interesting characters. As for character ideas, well, I'm pretty flexible there.  Depends on what the other players want to be, as well as the setting and feeling of the game.  My base idea is to play a Cleric (just to make sure the heals are covered) or whatever the group is missing.  I try to play very traditional characters, but I try to give them a bit of a twist. A FIGHTER who is a war veteran, tired of killing other men, looking to put his sword to better uses.  Travels with a faithful dog. A ROGUE who grew up on the streets, full of abandonment issues, looking for a place to belong, defiant in the face of danger. A CLERIC who is pious and thoughtful, an apt cook and a caring, consoling individual, having lost their family to tragedy. A WIZARD who comes from an aristocratic line, aloof and charming, but possessing keen intellect and incredible focus. A lot of those ideas I refined into full on characters, but, as I said, I prefer to tailor my character to the group and setting. Hope you guys give me a chance.  Good luck with your game in any case!
