Long ago, there lived a savage, cruel Overlord who ruled
the land with an iron fist. His army was massive, crushing his enemies
and all who would oppose him. Those that he ruled believed his reign
would never end; that his hellish rule would one day be the death of
them.
Of course, evil draws the attention of good, and these
same lands each offered up a champion to fight this darkness. A band of
eight assembled and challenged the malicious Overlord; first they
bravely fought and defeated his army, then they struck down the tyrant
himself. His reign was broken; his tower crumbled, and seven heroes
returned to their lands to be welcomed back as heroes. Darkness,
however, is not so easily vanquished. It has been many years since the
Overlord has been defeated. The broken tower remains; a symbol of good
triumphing over evil. Children who hold no fear of the tyrant have been
playing near the tower, and tell of movement inside; echoing footsteps,
rumble of shifting stone, and distant wicked laughter.
You are a team of adventurers who have decided to
investigate the tower. Perhaps you seek fame. Perhaps you seek treasure.
Or perhaps you seek the real source of the darkness. And those who
dwell in the tower may be the only ones who know what really happened so
long ago and what it has to do with the sense of dread that has fallen
over the land.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In your response I'd like a quick description of your character. Name,
race, class, physical description, and a bit of background. Just so
things don't overlap too much. If you want to get into the numbers early, here is what you need to know: You are starting at 1st level but can have a race with up to a +2 ECL modifier. Almost
every race and class will be accepted from the Core, Adv. Player's, and
Adv. Races. Classes and races from other books will need to okayed by
me. We are using a point buy system. 25 Character Point Buy, or the following stat array – 18, 14, 14, 12, 10, 8 (27 points total) You get an additional 10 hp because I don't want 1st level characters to die when something sneezes on them. Any input is fine, from text-only to mics to cameras. I do expect maturity from players. We won't be handling too heavy of subjects but I do intend to add a little horror to the campaign.
