Right now, I'm just trying to get a few players who want to do a pre-published module or two to get some beginning characters going. My first foray will be “The Sunless Citadel” – one of the first adventures they put out for D&D 3.0, but I'm adapting it to Pathfinder. If you’re interested in playing but you’ve already read/played/DM’d the module, please refrain from metagaming. If you haven’t read it yet, hold off from doing so until after the adventure is over. I could end up running this one multiple times for different groups. Willing to take players new to the system. Preferably looking for players who want the game to turn into something more than a dungeon crawl. I think I'd be looking at every other week, most likely Saturday evenings at from 6-10pm, Central Time. Roll20 for the maps/characters/etc. and voice call (no video) on Skype. I'm starting Saturday, January 30, at 6:00pm. First session will likely be character creation, unless everyone involved has their characters submitted to me beforehand. Even though it's starting as a 1st-level dungeon crawl, I do like to challenge my players to put a little bit of thought into their back story. Not so much that it can't be melded into an overall story arc, but not looking for min-max'ed, one-dimensional characters, either. I've often used an idea that Justin Achilli put out quite some time ago (and then refreshed more recently), and I would ask players to submit 3 sentences about their character in their requests. Players of 13th Age should be a bit familiar with the concept, already. I'll put Justin's link at the bottom, for everyone's reading pleasure. Ideally, the game would involve 4 players plus the DM, with no NPC's, so regular attendance would be beneficial for all. Content and language might stray into the adult areas here and there, so age and (im)maturity levels will be considered. My preferred style of gaming is heavy on the story, but, let's be honest. This is a pre-published module to start and we're playing on a virtual table top. So, I need to be realistic. There will be plenty of rolling. Eventually, I'd like to get the game into some of my own stories, and I've managed to do some of those sessions totally diceless, when the right players are involved. I encourage players to "take control of the camera" and describe how the scene is "playing out on the movie screen" whether it's role- or roll-playing. My background is more 3.0/3.5, but I’ve had some pretty good experience with Pathfinder. There are still a couple areas where the rules are different and I’m still adapting to them (sneak attack/flanking, minimum damage/non-lethal damage, etc.). I’m not a rules lawyer, so I tend to make a ruling “for now” to keep the game flow going, and change it as necessary in the future. I have one player already committed. Pay no attention to the "TR O." player - it's the extra account that I use to log in as a player. Respond to this post if you’re interested. I’d like to get as much character creation done ahead of time as possible, so if you're part of the game and you create a 1st level character on Roll20 in another game, I’ll let you import it into this game for my review. I’ll also accept Hero Lab exports (ask for my email address and I'll send it in a PM), as I tend to keep a copy of my players’ characters in there (makes for easier tracking from level to level and points out where things are missing or overspent). Please, lets keep it to the more standard races and classes found in the Core Rulebook - I'm not looking for death knights, duelists, gunslingers, etc. Please leave me a message with: Your name Availability to commit to every other Saturday. I'm going to make every effort to make it regular, but I understand the realities of life and hope that you'll respect the same, if things come up. Character race/type (you may pick a few of different combinations and rank your preference). I don't want to say that the last one in plays the cleric, but... ;-) 3 Sentences (read below) Please let me know your RPG background. As I said, I'm willing to take newbs and introduce them to the system. I'd just like to know what I'm in for. Extra consideration given to those who share their favorite RPG situation and/or a situation that made them want to leave a game. Here's the link I promised.
