Anyone can make a roll that only they can see via whisper (/w PlayerName) A GM can make a roll that no one else can see via /gmroll .
A player can also use /gmroll to make rolls that only s/he and the GM
can see. However, it requires the API for a player to make a roll that only the GM can see.
