double damage

I looked in the forums for how to do double damage on a roll and saw where a mod said to use "/roll (1d8+4)*3". It is not working for me. That post was before the roll out so maybe something changed. I know I can just double the rolled damage in my head :), but I want to put it in a macro. What am I doing wrong?
Hello Chuck, Currently, there does not seem to be a way to have the roller multiply your results with one command as parenthesis cause an "Invalid roll!" error. For now you may need to rely on mental math. If you'd like please take a look at the documentation for all of Roll20s different dice related commands: http://help.roll20.net/dice-rolling-reference/ From there you can also navigate to a more in depth explainations of macro uses.
Thanks, I have read those. Doing mental math is easy enough. I was writing a macro for sneak attack and was just trying to make it complete. I put a text note in the macro telling me to double the damage just in case I forgot in the heat of battle :)
