I'll respond here instead of the other thread. Basically we are starting fresh in a different system to Dark Heresy. So there is no way you would be able to transfer over a leveled character. Don't worry, Savage Worlds is simple and easy to use.

In order to play this game, you'll need access to the book. Its not a big book, only 10 dollars PDF and very much worth it. I'll run you through a sample character creation so you can see what its like;
I'm going to make Griff Killsomore, Imperial Guardsman as my sample char. Here is an empty character sheet; <a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZQ8ULInRj3E/TF2pgjderdI/AAAAAAAABQY/0mO91sRbyv4/s1600/charactersheet+image.png" rel="nofollow">http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZQ8ULInRj3E/TF2pgjderdI/AAAAAAAABQY/0mO91sRbyv4/s1600/charactersheet+image.png</a>
1: Race Human. Everybody will be human in this game unless you have a cool idea that would fit with the setting and could reasonably fit in with the inquisition.
2: Traits. The game has attributes and skills. Attribute tests are your raw talent while skills are more specialize, similar to how they work in Dark Heresy but much simpler. The way things work in savage worlds is you go up die types when you level up something. All attributes start at 4 and you have 5 total increases to spend. So If I take his strength from 4 to 6, that is 1/5 spent. If I take it from 6 to 10, that's two spent for 3/5 total, one fore 6 to 8 one for 8 to 10. Real simple.
So I'll divert these attributes like so, Agility: d4 Smarts: d6 Strength: d10 Spirit: d4 Vigor: d6. Griff is one of the strongest guys you've seen, but hes a bit clumsy and skittish.
Next I do skills. Skills are linked to each stat, it costs double to raise above the stat's die that they are linked to. So that max an Agility skill for Griff could be is 4 and the max a strength skill could be is 10, unless you wanted to start paying double. Griff gets a d4 Fighting skill for 1/15 spent, fighting's linked attribute is Agility which is a d4. I decide Griff needs to know how to handle a Las gun so I raise his Shooting to a d6, which is one die type above it's linked attribute, Agility. That costs 3 points for the d6 shooting, one for the d4 and 2 for the d6 that's above it's attribute for 4/15 spent. The skill list is pretty small, its not hard to navigate.
13
Griff's skills end of being Fighting:d4, Shooting:d6, Climbing d6, Gambling: d4, Healing: d6, Intimidation d4, Taunt d6, Tracking d6, Notice d6.
And after that chunk the hardest part is over.
3. Edges and Hindrances. Edges are like feats or talents from dark heresy. In the core book there are lists of each kind which you pick to flavor your character and give them bonuses and detriments. In order to get Edges, you must first take detriments which come in two modes, Minor and Major. If you take a Major Hindrance you get 2 points, if you take a Minor you get 1 point. For 2 points you can gain another attribute die or an edge, for 1 point you may gain another skill die or increase starting funds 100%. If you are a human, which Griff is you start with 1 free edge, which is a very nice bonus.
Griff is a crazy old coot so hes going to take the Death Wish and One Eye hindrances. Hes seen enough war he just wants to go out in a blaze of glory and years ago his eye got popped out in a battle with some space Orks and his vision's never been the same. This gives Griff 3 points to spend. Hes going to spend 2 of those on an extra Edge and 1 of them on 100% more starting wealth. Griff now has two edges to pick.
Being a leader in the intergalactic wars of humanity for years Griff has picked up the Command and Dead Shot Edges, to help him lead troops and make those tough shots to frag the enemy.
4. Spend $ on gear. Normal startling wealth is 500, but Griff put one Hindrance point into increasing wealth 100% so he starts with 1000 to kit himself out with weaponry armor and whatever else he needs.
5. Background details. Make your character's backstory and develop a voice and identity for the game.
And here he is, Griff the Gruff Grimy Gloomy Guardsman; <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=460501" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=460501</a>. I didn't spend his money, but you get the point. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
