Originally a land full of hostile undead and monstrosities, most of the continent has some form of civilization, with only pockets of these creatures still left. Though as is expected, not all danger is gone as where once the monstrosities of the land posed a threat, now civilization itself houses threats. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Hello everyone! I am DMing a 5th Edition campaign, in a completely homebrewed world. Most of base 5e is still in place, with supplements and some alterations. For a base note: Combat --------------------------------------------------------- Potions as a Bonus Action Spells as a Bonus action do not Stop a character from casting a spell as an Action Cunning Action is Not stop a character from using bonus actions, they are seperate beasts Critical hit and Critical fail charts exist on Natural 1's and 20's Character growth ----------------------------------------------------------- 4d6k3 is the standard Stat roll Hit points is either half the HD + con or HD Rolled + con Either choice Character Training for proficiencies, and is available at the GMs discretion, requires Gold, time and a trainer All characters have 4 attunement slots as this is a high magic world Custom magic crafting skills are there used with alchemy , magic item crafting and other various abilities Guns, and therefore gunslingers, do exist in this world. World Changes ------------------------------------------------------------- This is a purely homebrewed 5e world, so the main Pantheon of Gods and Goddesses is unique to this world, though this Pantheon is not all inclusive so if you wish to worship a God that is unrepresented that is a possibility. The World is named Arlos, and most events have revealed that this plane is likely near the center of all planes, as it is believed thousands of years ago a great war between the Gods caused all checks and balances to end. This in turn led to planes opening up onto the plane which contains Arlos, and all forms of creatures and beings to spill forth. The current campaign is set on the continent of Lorestir, which was settled in the previous campaign by the PC at the time's country. While it is mostly civilized, some pockets of those creatures still exist, so travelers and adventurers alike beware. The other continent of Menimierth is constantly home to wars and skirmishes alike, as the land is fairly densly populated, as well as many resources having been exploited. Idealogical differences are rampant, especially with technological advances that have been seen in the last century. There are plenty more monsters than included in the Monster Manual, as it is rather small and easy to run through. Some of these are creatures from books, movies, etc, and some are adapted from other D&D versions or other tabletop games. Inventory ------------------------------------------------------------------ Custom Items are available This ranges from punch daggers to bastard Swords to a variety of other weapons, shields, and more. While encumbrance isn't a huge focus, if you go off into the wilderness for days it will be a point of what you can carry, and what food resources you have. Or through large dungeons if you plan on looting armor and weapons off every enemy if that applies. Custom Magic items are available as well from a variety of locations as well as Crafting, and there are rule sets in place to craft magic items, both custom and those that exist. ___________________________________________________________________________________ We play using mumble, with a group chat in Skype for off game communication. As far as the current party, our members are a Gunslinger Halfling named Lenny, a Trickster Cleric named Misty, and a Chitine (spider) rogue named Thomas. The party is level 5, and we just lost a Paladin of Vengeance as well as a War Cleric. Our need would primarily be for a front liner, and something else, at least one of which being a half or full healer. Of course we can work around if you want to play something else, so don't pitch a character you do not wish to play. ___________________________________________________________________________________ One major point I do want to bring home is the time point. We play Monday at 7pm Eastern Standard Time until 2 am Eastern Standard on Tuesday, so a 7 hour session. I'm looking for players who can be part of the group for the foreseeable future, not just a month or two. Even if this story line ends, I do at this time plan on continuing forth the story of the World of Arlos. If you can't reliably be here at the start time, or would have to leave early consistently, I would like to say thank you for reading thus far, but this game will not be a fit for you, and I wish you good luck on finding one that is. If you want to join, please make a new thread with character idea, at least a rough description and back story, and a little about yourself. I look forward to reading all your applications, and hope to GM for a couple of you!
