Interest Survey: Tomb of Horrors 5E one-shot

Hey folks! I want to run the classic Tomb of Horrors module updated to 5th edition D&D rules. Interested? Please tell me about your self and why you would like to play or whatever... This game is not up and running yet. I'm just trying to see if there is enough interest before I put too much time into it. I'm about to go to work, so I will not be replying to any posts for the next few hours, but I will respond ASAP. I'm looking for only 4 players, 12th level characters, experienced players preferred. I'm semi-new to 5th edition, so people that know the rules well would help. Also, experience with the Roll20 interface would be preferred as well. I am using the 5E D&D "Shaped" character sheets. Scheduling is TBD for now. I live in Eastern United States (GMT -5) and I work most nights. Thanks! I hope to hear from ya'll soon!
I would be interested because I'm planning to run the game for my friends. I've been running 5e since it was DNDNext and playing about as long. Played a number of systems since.
I love this idea, and would be very happy to participate. Sadly, my free time is practically non existent, so unless you run it on a weeknight I would be unable to play. I've played and run quite a bit of 5e, both in and out of roll20. I've been able to try out just about every class for 5e, and each has its own charm. I'm certainly not fixed to any one character type. Given Tomb of Horrors' reputation for having a lot of "save or die" situations, I'd probably try and bust the odds by playing a Lucky Halfling Wild Magic Sorcerer.
So far not much interest... hoping for more. I've been putting the game together in Roll20 already. I've got the map prepped and dynamic lighting set up. I'm preparing tokens and map markers now. I may make pre-generated characters for people to choose from. I would like to keep it simple. One Main Warrior. One Main Divine Caster. One Main Arcane Caster. One Skill Monkey (Rogue). 12th level. I haven't worked out how to do treasure/wealth above 1st level. They used to have that in the rules, but I can't seem to find it in the 5E rules. This is supposed to be a fun and casual game that doesn't last too long. If you aren't familiar with the Tomb of Horrors, this is an old classic module (S1 for 1st edition AD&D). It is a puzzles and traps dungeon crawl that is known for being DEADLY. Some refer to these types of dungeons as "death traps". This is NOT a hack-n-slash game. There is very little combat. There are more puzzles and traps. I want to run this module with multiple groups and see how long it takes each group to make it through. It is not a massive dungeon. I plan on playing it over about 3-4 sessions (at most) if we can meet regularly. I may have misspoke when I labeled this as a "one-shot". I work at a restaurant at night most nights, so I'm sort of open to an early part of the day game or a middle of the night (at least in Eastern time zone) game. New players are welcome, but since it is a higher level game and I am sort of new to the 5th edition rules, newer players may have a hard time with creating or keeping up with a character. If anyone has any questions or comments, please let me know. Once I've finished putting the game together in Roll20 I will create the official LFG post in the LFG listing thing. Thanks!

Have you already read the adventure??? If so, then I must politely turn you away. This adventure is like the movie Sixth Sense, once you've seen it, it just doesn't have the same effect. If not, then I'll be in touch via PM. Obviously there isn't enough interest yet... Thanks for your interest!

Alternatively, Early in the day. What time zone are you in?
I'm EST. I'm up early for work, so a late night session is a no go for me. Like you, I'm surprised by the lack of response. I tried to run a one shot a few weeks back and didn't get any interest. Is roll20 less popular now or something? Last year I feel like something like this would have had a huge number of people responding.
I'm interested, but I've noticed people don't tend to commit to LFG threads or games that have no set time or day. As it stands if its any other day than friday night EST or saturday I couldn't make it.

I don't want to post any set date/time stuff yet until I have the game ready to play. It is almost done though, maybe another day or two. How late on Friday and Saturdays can you play Jose? I typically work until 9 or 10 EST on those days, but SOMETIMES I might be earlier or later. I have no problem playing for 4-5 hours after I get off. I work everyday except sundays most weeks. My IDEAL time to play would be an early, during the day game. Second best is after work, maybe starting around 11 PM and play until 3-4 AM (GMT -5, Eastern Time United States). Thanks for your interest and taking time to reply!
hey, I am totaly up for this. I have played in a 5e campaign already, sandbox tho and not much puzzle solving was involved. The only thing is that im from Poland from the gmt+1 timezone so that might be annoying. I'm still up for it as long as the game wont be in the middle of the night for me...so, let me know when you get a group going adn what time you guys are planning to go. Again, this sounds awesome.

Cool man! Thanks! I'm excited too. I have it all set up with dynamic lighting. I have all the original illustrations for handouts. I have spooky music and maybe some sound effects. For anyone reading this, if you are interested and want to start making a character just in case, 12th level, player's handbook only, need one role of each: WARRIOR (Tank), DIVINE, ARCANE, ROGUE-ish for a complete party. It wouldn't hurt to have a back-up character or two. I'm not sure how this dungeon plays out in 5th edition, but it is known for being deadly. It says it is scaled for levels 10-14, so I put you in the middle of that. Also, it was written for "D&D Next", so there might be some SLIGHT variations, although I'm not sure a player would notice. Keep posting if interested. I need 4 players that can work out one schedule. Once I have the game finished, if I don't have enough interest still, I'm just going to set a day and time when I can play in the LFG listings and hope people find it there. Thanks!
to be completely honest, pre generated characters might not be a bad idea in case of a one shot like this. It would eliminate anything completely weird and would allow you to play this a couple times with different people. So how differently they handle and play the same archetype. Still, I always played physical characters, might go for a spellcaster this time around.
UPDATE: I've finished setting up the module and all. Now I am preparing pre-generated characters just to be simple. I've pulled these characters from Dave's web site at www.tabletopping.net and I've put together 3 parties. I based each of the parties on basic needs (combat, healing, magic, and skills), but some class combos may be better than others. I don't really care if you mix and match from how I have the parties set up as long as each party ROLE is filled (1 combat, 1 healer, 1 magic, 1 skilled). The first time I run this I'm going to run it as written, but as of right now, some of the DCs seem a little low for the level of characters the adventure is set for. We'll see... As soon as I have the characters entered into Roll20 with working character sheets I am going to make an official LFG listing. Stay tuned!
Ok, so entering in all the pregen characters is super time consuming.... I'm closing this thread and going to try to officially make a listing for the game... Oh mighty moderators, you may close this thread... thank you.
