Sorry to make such a brief post in the game but real life is keeping me busy. The wife is finally getting out of the hospital (we hope) tomorrow so home life will be able to stabilize somewhat but with her cousin (our house guest) having cancer, it is soon to get chaotic again. I will try to post as often as before but my posts might be slightly skimpy or lumping everything into a single, general post instead of individualized postings with the overall post.

Don't worry about it too much Pat, we understand real life comes first.

As Genesis is the lead on this action and everyone is supporting her aka teamwork, she has a +2 on her roll so far.

Ok, so don't hate me, but being absent for a while left me lost. How do I roll again in this game? With my dice and all that, plus the +2 I get from support. Sorry, been a while since I had to roll.

[[#d6+2]] is the mechanic where the # is your cliche rank. If you are using a specialization add another +1 to your roll also.

The post is slightly disjointed. Genesis and Brossu are to one side of the door (Genesis was floating by the use of her nanoveil), Mauze and Q was on the other side while Nator was in front but a short distance away before the explosion happened. Everything is happening at the same time in this post.

There will be a slight retro on Olaf's game post. His first action is the attempt to grab and bag Genesis. Ignore the rest of his action sequence and respond to the scene as if only a few seconds have passed.

How do you usually handle private communication? Just use whispers or keep it open but metagame as if no one heard?

I would prefer it to be open and metagamed if possible. This is to allow it to be part of the story. This is how I was handling TeeCee communicating with Brossu over his comm (you can think of the comms as cellphones/intercoms/whatevers you want) a few times when he was not around anyone.

I will be posting a reply tonight/early morning (about 7hrs from now). Have been waiting over the weekend for one player but will now be pushing the story on without their reply.

Sorry I have been so quiet but life has been very hectic. For the last week I've been getting maybe 4hrs of sleep every 24 to 30hrs. I'm hoping to resume my posting in the next few days.

With all that you've got going on mate its never a problem to cut back on the things that aren't important (in the grand scheme of things anyway ;) )! Although for the record Olaf, I don't have a life outside of Roll20...

Ok, I posted a small bit. This is wrapping up chapter 2 so everyone can post loosely what they are doing and such. Chapter 3 will be picking up at the Colony World "Korlandar".

So today I was looking over the game and came to the conclusion that the game is slowly dying out. I only have a couple of my players posting with any regularity and this is not what I wanted. Maybe it is the system, maybe it is the setting, or maybe it is just me. If things don't take a turn of improving over the next few weeks, I will be wrapping up the game and closing it down. I know play by post games are hard to keep active, especially during the holidays and it did not help with the chaos that my life took recently but I've been doing the best I can. Without something to work with, aka player posting, all I'm doing is writing a story for you all to read and if I'm going to do that then why bother having a pbp game to distract me.

I'm thinking it might be the players, I try to check the game daily and post when appropriate.

I am enjoying myself, but I agree it seems that its the players more than anything. I'd hate to see this die but I'd understand if you had to.

I've been enjoying the game too. This is my first time trying pbp so I don't know what's really expected and the limit of the player's influence on the narrative. So yeah, sorry if I'm part of the problem. Since it seems we're all still invested in this, what can we do?  I'd also like to continue but if you're not enjoying running it, I understand. 

It's not that I'm not enjoying running it. It is just frustrating to have nothing or not much to work with. I really don't know if I'm not giving you all enough to work with or not giving everyone enough leeway to shape the scene without hampering the other players. Scene descriptions are fine, introducing npc's to the scene is fine if it makes sense, creating dramatic events is encouraged, etc but one liners or posts that do not give anything that moves the scene forward is hard to work with.

Sorry Pat, I'll try to do better.

I always try to ensure my posts prompt either another player reaction or a scene evolution but please let me know if you need more from me. I'm really enjoying it but i can understand your frustration. Also my recent posts to bring Genesis forward are to limit how much i slow things down over the next fortnight as i'm on vacation from the 5-20th although i will be checking in when i get chance it won't be daily like it is now... my number 1 will be in charge ;)

It is a balancing act and it is not easy for some people but as long as everyone (including me) attempt to narrate the scene and paint that specific scene vividly enough that others can see it so they can add to it also, it should get the game moving along.

In reference to the last post by Mause, Nate would definitely NOT turn the crank, but would instead ask why Mauze is trying to disable the surge and overload protection from the power core...

Simplest way to correct this is for Andrew to repost with (Redacted) title and his altered action. This lets everyone carry on from the corrected post
