good gaming group to join.  5E or Pathfinder game's preferred. a bit about me. I've been on roll20 for some time now, I havent really "played" but I have DMed quite a bit using the site, so I'm fairly decent with how to get around in it.  I've been playing RPGs, tabletop specifically, since I was a kid.  I'm a decent RPer, not the greatest but I do ok.  I prefer a mix of gameplay 50/50 RP/Action, but I'm game for anything worthwhile.  I prefer games that aren't too "fluffy".  Games where the players can play weird monster races, or allowed to play some uber concoction of a class, those games just aren't for me.  I'm looking for more of a down to earth, low magic, epic story with epic people. I decided to share the last 2 rounds of my game last night to provide a bit of my style and what I hope to find here. How the Scene played out in my mind "Burn it to the ground!" bellowed Irvok as he charged up the stairs, knowing in the back of his mind that this action alone could potentially send him to meet Tempus earlier than he had anticipated. It didn't matter, however, the look of determination on Baeryn's face, one of his new companions said it all. He needed to help save the child in the upper rooms, there wasn't any other option. As the two made their way up into the upper floors, Wilbur concentrated on the flaming sphere he had conjured up mere seconds ago. Focusing the sphere's fiery energy on the wooden floorboards and furniture in an attempt to set the cottage ablaze he, like the others, knew the contamination that had occurred here could not be left for others to find, lest they too fall victim to the horror that the Burgomaster's family succumbed to. "Burn it down, burn it down" chanted Wilbur, his eyes transfixed on the fiery sphere, he hardly noticed his childhood friend, Denton, standing on the opposite side of the house looking in through the doorway with his milky, cataract covered eyes a look of worry and fear etched solidly upon his face. "Where the hell did they go?!" Denton cried as he backed away from the doorway, covering his face and waving off the dark smoke that Wilbur's burning sphere had helped to create. There was no way for the partially blind swordsman to enter without getting himself hurt by the growing flames. Then suddenly, the window shatters above him with no warning as Irvok leaps head-first out the third story window and lands in a thud on the ground next to him. Before he could make his first step toward his fallen friend, he see's Baeryn crash through a second story window. My GM notes.  This happens right before the two decided that enough was enough and the only way out of the house after seeing what they saw was through the windows. Scene Emily's Room Auditory/Perception Check DC 15 (You can hear the faint methodic (act: raspy inhale and exhale) of something in the room. Whatever it is that's breathing inside beyond the door, sounds as if their lungs are riddled with sickness.) As you push the door open, you hear the sticky webbing stretch taught and tear, the silky threads trying futilely to bar you entrance. Inside, beyond the gloom of your torch you can barely make out the form of a child lying in the corner on the bed. Harsh breathing (act: raspy inhale and exhale), seems to be coming from it. Suddenly the child rises from its prone position in the bed to a sitting one. Eyes stare blankly at the ceiling. Visual/Perception Check DC 10 (You see the childs throat undulate and bulge out in a grotesque manner.) The child then opens its mouth wide as it spews forth a massive cloud of flying insects. Horror Check DC18 unless the players RP it.  DC13 if they do You push yourself back, stumbling away from the horrorible scene before you. You attempt to close the door but its too late, the child, the creature, the thing is now mid-air, landing next to you, barring the closure of the door!

I have a game of Lamentations of the Flame Princess that I'm trying to put together over here . It sounds exactly like the type of game that you're looking for. Let me know if you're interested.
