[LFG] Not Confused or Lost. Nope.

Hey there, Looking for a group/game to join as a player. I have never played any PNPRPGs before, but I am looking to learn if anyone is willing to teach. My time is limited to the weekends on weekly or bi-weekly basis and I prefer to do this all by text, but not completely against voice. I understand that as a beggar, I cannot be picky but still every game won't be for me. My genre interest run along the lines of high fantasy, cyberpunk/dystopian futuristic, historical fiction, space opera, and a bunch of other things. I have re-purposed the 'Enjoys Playing' section on my profile as an area to lists media I am familiar with and wouldn't mind taking part in anything similar. For a more in-depth description of my situation, read below or message me. I'm a gamer and nerd at heart, so the concept of RPG's and what they represent is not lost on me. Through the years, my love affair with roleplaying grew to encompass other forms of media. Eventually, I became enthralled in the world of writing fan-fiction/general fiction in online forums. My career as an online RPer was extensive as I spent the majority of my time on RolePlayGateway building worlds and managing them as a GM -- I also have experience on the other side of the fence as a Player who created a vast and varied cast of characters. It may be just my ego speaking but, I would even go so far as to say I left a lasting impression on that site in the form of a Character Sheet I designed, which is still being used today. Anyway, needless boasting aside, my desire to create and roleplay has brought me to table-top gaming in its virtual form. Time constraints and other responsibilities limit me and thus play-by-post is no longer an option. However, if I manage to find a group and workout a schedule of weekly/bi-weekly play, then I will find myself once more unto the breach. A warning to all those who would accompany... in this field of roleplay I have what would amount to zero experience. My interest stems from watching movies like The Gamers and listening to live-play D&D podcasts like the Board with Life and The Adventure Zone. I lack friends with a similar interest and I'm not outgoing enough to hangout with a group of strangers from my surrounding area, so here I am. If you're interested in taking a newbie under your wings, then send me a message so we can discuss in detail about what I have to offer and joining your campaign.

I have a game that I'm putting together over here , although it is voice. Be warned though, while this system is fairly simple and easy to learn, character death is a fairly common event. If you're interested just let me know.
Your game looks nice; a dark, gritty, war story seems like it would be fun for me. The only aspect that's really throwing me off is the voice thing. So I'll still keep looking, but meantime I'll read through the player book and work on a character concept, then let you know if I can join or not.

I have aweekly game saturdays thatis in need of a new player. It is a primarily text game, it is a high fantasy game with heavy sci fi elements. Outside of me and one player everyone is a newer player. It is worth noting that the game is a preconstructed adventure modified by me, it will also be a long term campaign.
Could you link me to it?
I actually haven't made a proper advert page like he has so there isn't a whole lot of detail i can give you in that regards. However I am more then willing to answer any questions you may have. If you want to read up specifically on the adventure itself there is a player handbook available for free I can link you privately. I'm not entirely certain if I'm allowed to link to other websites on the forums so yea. If you want to get ahold of me on skype to make the Q and A period faster that's an option aswell
I don't have any questions since I'm about as new to this as they come and therefore wouldn't even know where to begin. As long as the game is text based and on the weekends, I'm willing to join. I mean I would like to know more about the world so I can work on a character concept, but you said there's a handbook I can read. So just link me and provide me with your contact information, then we can go from there.

Please do be cautious when linking handbooks to ensure that no violation of the No Piracy Allowed clause of the Roll20 Community Code of Conduct accidentally takes place. That said, sharing resources that you have been granted the permission to share (e.g. via an Open Content License) is something you can totally do on the Community Forums provided that the sharing of these items does not violate the Community Code of Conduct nor the Roll20 Terms of Service and Privacy Policy . Thanks!

Has anyone tossed you a link to the  Knights of the Written Word group? It's a group of text preferred gamers that post their game recruitments in that group's forum.
No, just found out through you, actually.  Are you a member or can you invite me? Either way, thanks!
