Terrible Lizard

Heading back into town, the party was met by children first who shouted at the size of the beast and cheered at their success.  The parents watched next in horror at the kinds of creatures that lie beyond the protection of the outpost -murmuring that we may need walls.  Agela ran up to them as they got closer to the center of town with the beasts skull in tow.  Wow .. I considered the size of the beast but that is impressive.  How did you manage such a task?  Did the pit work as well as expected? 

Kellen climbs out of the back of the wagon with a groan, "not exactly... Well... The pit didn't really work at all."

Ellie's eyes flicker as she weakly recites something you don't understand and the ashen color of her skin is suddenly awash with her normal, healthy blue. She jumps down from the wagon, amazingly spry and full of energy, before adding, "The pit did not play into things at all, but at least I am now part owner of a giant hole. We'll figure out some other use for it." She also lays her right hand on Kellen's arm and her eyes flicker again and the same recitation emanates from her lips. //   Casting: CLW on self with a roll of 9 (1d8+2) & CLW on Kellen with a roll of 5 (1d8+2)

No! Issachar spits with disgust!   The Plan was a total and complete failure.  Kellen and Eliife almost died because of my carelessness.  

"Calm down, Issachar. We're alive. And we knew the risks when we went with you. This doesn't fall squarely on your shoulders."

"ive never seen the inside of a dinosaur's mouth before. I think this was a learning experience for all of us. And dont worry iss, if we handt been there to take the bites, you probably would have died."  Kellen smiles, and then winces a bit. 

They could swear the allosaur's head grinned a bit in response .. but no .. just a figment of their imaginiation ... The whole town came out to see the kill.  It was the talk among everyone and the party was treated like real heroes, whether they liked it or not ..  Agela asked .. what do you think we should do with that thing .. it could make for something really intimidating if we put it in the right place .. and had it stuffed. 

"That sounds terrible... Can we use any parts of it to make things? I'd rather use the creature for something more practical." Ellie doesn't know how to handle herself with all these people fawning over her. This is a completely new situation for her. People don't usually love her as much as they scorn her.

Is there a reason we can't salt the meat or smoke it?  We have winter to get through and more and more mouths to feed.  I'm sure we've all eaten lizard before.  As for the rest, do with it as you like.  I've seen enough of that beast to last me forever!

"If we're not doing anything with it, I would place the skull in my vault. Feels like a fitting trophy. Well maybe a claw or something. I wonder if I could make them into kukris..."
