Ways of presenting text in chat?

I was wondering if i can type stuff, and have it come up the same way it comes up when you use the "/me" command, with different colors possibly? Or other ways of having the text in chat be more intresting?

At this time that is not an option. Sorry.  - Gauss
Not sure if it's possible (And I'm a little wrapped up at work today) but I'll try pumping out an API script to use standard HTML formatting with the direct command. No promises, but I'll try to get it done by tomorrow

I noticed that adding markup formatting tags to macros only results in the tags and their content being stripped from what is echoed in the chat window. So it would seem that the chat feature recognizes markup indicators, just not the content. I find that odd and a little disappointing given this is a such a really fantastic browser-based tool. I'm new to R20 -- but in less than a week I've gotten 2 campaigns up and running and my players love it, too. Hoping your script will help, Emile -- not a deal breaker for anyone in our group but would sure make some basic variation on communication/display via chat (and macros) easier.
