[SW Saga] Question about 3d dice rolling from the character sheet

Hello all, First, I'm pretty new to r20 and so far it is great and the community seems even better (very helpful!). Now onto my question and I'm guessing there is a simple answer for this! I'm running a SW: Saga edition game. When I roll an attack roll for an npc from the character sheet with 3d dice enabled, 2 damage dice roll (even though it is 1d8 on the sheet) and the game seems to be counting only 1 of them. Is there a feature I may have enabled by mistake or a way to turn this off? It is driving me crazy! One other side question, sometimes attack roll results come up green, red and gray. (red is a 1 I'm guessing) Can someone please explain what these colors mean? Also, the same with the damage dice, sometimes the roll result is green, sometimes gray. Can someone explain why? Thanks in advance!

I'm not familiar with the sheet so can't comment on the number of dice being rolled (sometimes there are conditional sections such as criticals that get rolled but would only display if needed). The colours, as you've pretty much surmised, relates to the result of the dice. Green is typically a maximum, Red a minimum and Gray is anything in between. With multiple dice you may also get Blue which would denote that at least one die was max and one was min. These colours can also be extended in range using the cs, cf dice expressions. Thank you very much for the info!

Hi Max. For the attacks there's a field to change the critical success range. Just change the 20 to the crit range. You can also manually adjust it by customizing the rolls by going through the show/hide buttons to reveal the Roll Template for the attack. As for the 3d. I think I've had someone report that in the past, but as I don't use 3D dice I've never actually tested to see if that's something sheet related or something else.
Hi Alicia, Thank you for your response. I appreciate your time!

Alright so I did some tests.. for the attacks it's rolling the damage for critical damage as well. So the damage will always be double unless you go into the roll template and remove the {{dmgcrit= }} part of the template. I'm going to play around with how the template determines with the helpers and see if I can negate that 2nd roll.

I've tried a couple things and other than completely removing the {{dmgcrit=}} option from the roll template it looks like it will always roll damage twice. Which makes sense to me as I believe I remember reading that the dice are rolled before the output is processed, particularly for 3D dice. I could be wrong though.
Hi Alicia, Thank you so much for your reply and testing! Now that I hear the explanation it makes perfect sense. My solution was simply to turn off 3d dice so no one would feel like they were being "cheated" if the roll used was the lower of the two (lol at that!). Again, I thank you for your reply, time and assistance!
