Hi all, I am Simon and this shall be my first attempt to run a Pathfinder game by way of the new adventure path: Hell's Rebels . While I am not an entirely new GM, I don't have as much experience with it as I would like and virtually none with Pathfinder. As such I am looking for players who enjoy roleplaying either equally or more than rollplaying, who are willing to show up on time(Or notify me as soon as possible if not/can't make it), and willing to keep up with what is posted on the game boards in between sessions. Keep in mind as this is an adventure path of a ton of adventures from 1st level onward that you should be in this for the long haul. Sessions will be held weekly on Fridays at 4 PM CST (Edit: Moving it up to 5pm CST) What I want from you:  If you are interested in this game, please post below your prior experience with rpgs and a character concept for the type of character you will be playing.   Character Creation Details 4-5 characters, at first level, with 25 point buys. I would highly suggest picking up the Player's Guide for the AP, available at Paizo's website. Races besides core ones must be approved with me first. All characters are to begin with average gold for their class, purchase your beginning gear out of that and mark up your sheet with your armour and weapons. I will accept almost all classes from Paizo sourcebooks, including Occult Adventures(Archtypes will be allowed on a case to case basis) excluding the summoner. Characters are allowed 2 traits, one of which must be a campaign trait from the players guide for this path. Characters begin with maximum health for their class. May take 1 drawback to gain 1 trait If there is anything I left out, feel free to ask. Looking forward to hearing from you!
I have been playing pathfinder/3.5 for the past three years and I have recently gotten into the fifth edition of D&D.  My experience with the pathfinder system has been for the most part as a player.  However, my creativity has brought me a spark of interest to DMing but I still have a bit of reluctance to that role.  As for my player experience, I have played the Orc, Human, Elf, Aasimar, Tengu, and even dabbled in some Advanced Races Guide Race Creation.  I have experienced playing the role of the:  Enabler - A character whose purpose is to bring more options to his allies.  Healer - Curing the group of both disease and damage.  Blaster - using magic and ranged weaponry to conquer my foes from afar.  Destroyer - a walking tank in full or no armor that cleaves his way to victory.  All of the following roles have also experienced a strong roleplaying aspect knowing that before I have even picked up a single D&D book that I have LARPed for a couple years and allowed myself to experience the immersive fantasy world firsthand before handling the numbers game. If chosen to join I would like to offer a character of a slightly renown family within Cheliax whose father had strictly taught him magic, and his training had him gain the effeciency of using a bow almost in sync with his skill in the arcane.
What sort of class do you think that character would be? Any archetypes?
A Human Magus with the Eldritch Archer Archetype
I've been playing tabletop rpgs for about 10 years at this point.  I started out early with 3.5, and after a few years of that game, our group made the leap over to pathfinder.  I have been playing in pathfinder games pretty consistently since then.  In addition to those games, I recently made the jump into 5e, and have a decent amount of experience with WoD and shadowrun. Me as a player, I enjoy building not just a character but a complete person.  Someone who grows and changes as time passes, and problems they encounter shape their perception of the world. I have a very rough idea on a character. The base of which would be a bard.   The concept behind it would be an artist who attempted to use his art to speak out against the establishment. But, when he is pushed to the edge, he takes up arms instead. I want to be transparent up front, so there are two things on the timing I wanted to note. If the game runs on Fridays, I am unable to play this week Friday if you were hoping to start that early. Secondly the timing at 4, I normally work past then.  I can and would adjust my schedule to allow me to make it on time, but if there were unforeseen circumstances, I might end up being slightly late. (I would also notify you in that case
No worries, I will be out of town this coming weekend so I for sure do not to expect to start by then- I could shift the game forward an hour or two, would that help?
An hour forward and I could guarantee I would be there. But it's really up to you.
I have a few years worth of experience with tabletop games, though not much with PF. I have been learning the system and looking for a game, however, so this would be perfect. Besides the above, I have roleplayed more than that, RPGs and fantasy books' deep, immersive characters and worlds having been what drew my interest. Additionally, I have some acting experience under my belt, as well as vocal training, if this game is with voice. Helps with immersing myself in a character. I would like to play a Half-Elf Fighter. No archetype, but I would like to take the alternate racial trait Ancestral Arms, if that would be alright.

Chrono said: An hour forward and I could guarantee I would be there. But it's really up to you.  Works for me, 5 PM CST it is. :D Also Rag- the game is voice and that racial trait looks fine with me. What were you thinking of playing in terms of the actual rebel behind the character sheet though?
So would I be good to join?

The rather androgynous halfie is a lad stricken with wanderlust. The way he was treated living with his elven parent, as a lesser, eventually drove him away. He's a duelist at heart, just looking to continue getting stronger, though his good bent pushes him to help those he finds along his way. All he has is his blades and his drive to be something more than most expect of his kind. He has currently settled down in the city this adventure takes place, and was there when things started to go downhill. His good nature is what will keep him there, rather than leaving, his chaotic nature and ideal of personal freedoms making him want to help free the city if at all possible.
I'd be interested in playing. I played D&D 3.5 for a couple years, 4th for 6 months, and 5th for a couple. I haven't played Pathfinder, but I'd read the player's handbook by Friday if I knew I had a spot. I believe that all character types are fun to play if roleplayed well. I generally randomly choose goodish characters that fits the parties needs (and I'd be ready with a fleshed-out character by Friday). I'm applying to a couple different games on Friday and will only be accepting one (probably first come first serve). Please tell me if you want me.

I have experience with nearly every edition of DnD that exists, but Pathfinder is by far the most familiar to me. I've played it for almost five years now, and have a firm grasp on the rules and recent erratas. I've never actually played this AP before, though. Also, if you're the Simon G. I think you are, I think I was in your Blades in the Dark campaign; so hi again! My character would be either an unchained rogue; a thief who specializes in dealing nonlethal damage. Or an eldritch archer magus who mixes magic with gunslinging. The rogue would be compelled to rebel in order to steal as much wealth from house thrune as possible in the chaos, whereas the Magus is out for a bit of revenge; the rest of her coven was arrested for some trumped up charges, probably due to the fact that they wanted to remain independent. EDIT: Just noticed that other guy wants to be an eldritch archer. Guess I'll be going with the rogue then :P
Well I could go with the Magus, or I can provide a healing Oracle thats from the outskirts of Cheliax that wants to restore righteousness into the corrupt city.
I should note at this moment the game has been filled up by players from the lfg posting. Thank you all for your interest though and I will contact you if there are any sudden drops.
