Having an odd issue with drawn images not wanting to merge.

Basically what the title says, I'll for instance draw 2 circles one larger one smaller and put the smaller one in the middle of the larger one to make it look like a crude flying saucer to act as a game piece.  However when I drag a box over and select them both and go to the advanced "merge objects" option, i still wind up moving the pieces individually.  Anyone know what I might be doing wrong ?

Are you double clicking them? I faintly remember somewhere it being said that you have to double click on them to be able to move them as one. I could be wrong though.
After doing some testing, Metroknight appears to be correct.  If you double click on one of the objects it will select them both and let you move them as a group.  Clicking just once lets you select an individual object in the group and move it.
Right while that's fine, the actual image grouping option doesn't seem to work even after making sure both images are selected by double clicking (or the double clicking is the only way to group them, which winds up being temporary, and easy to for players to forget to double click every single multi graphic image.  In this particular case it's pieces for a board game, because the graphics i was trying to edit in paint and import wanted to keep their white background no matter what i did D:

nvm gauss, I decided to not bother drawing the images and instead just found a couple in the browser to use as supplemental, your reply came right after i went to work anyway heh ;) I think i figured out what was going on, it's not that the images weren't merging, it's that when they're merged you can still manipulate each individual image within the merged image if you deselect it then reselect it, and if i say, drag it out a ways the selection box will still encompass the merged images even though im able to manipulate one of the others separately.  A nice feature to be sure, but it'd be nice if there was a way to lock them after merging, so that you didn't need to double click to make sure all merged images were selected properly.
