Campaign-Specific ID Photo

I'm not sure if anyone has made this suggestion yet, but I have been wondering it it's in the pipes anywhere to give DMs and/or players the ability to use different photos for multiple campaigns.  If someone plays in a horror campaign with one group, and a light-hearted fantasy with another, using one ID photo for both might upset the atmosphere a bit.  They might want a bloody monster for the horror game, and a goofy fairy for the fantasy, but instead have to stick with a neutral image.  Another way in which this idea might be helpful to some people (myself included) is that we don't necessarily want all of our players (or GMs) to track us through the forums. It would be great if we could have a main profile ID pic that we use in the forums, and then custom pics for each campaign we play in or run.

I'm not sure I understand the need for differing player avatars in different campaigns; characters already have separate avatars, and I see it as the difference between "Character Name" and "Player Name" on a paper character sheet. On the other hand, I always hide the avatars anyway, to save on valuable screen real-estate. Hmm... what if the avatar displayed above your name was linked to whatever character you had selected in your "As" dropdown at the bottom of the chat? Then you could simply set the character avatar, and show it off more easily, as well.
Brian says: "the avatar displayed above your name was linked to whatever character you had selected in your "As" dropdown at the bottom of the chat" +1 for this, an excellent way to portray things! And please let us keep the avatar even when broadcasting voice (But not video); seeing a half-dozen shadowy forms, all alike, does nothing for the roleplay! Especially when there's one player who isn't voice-ing, who gets to keep their avatar!!

Here is a work-around way to do it.  Use a webcam program on your computer, such as ManyCam (free program for PC). In the game you will need to choose that you are "broadcasting video".  In the ManyCam app you will need to choose that your "webcam stream" is sending out a still-photo image.  In ManyCam you can choose any image, such as JPEG, GIF or PNG, to send out over your webcam.  Simply load your library of avatars for each game into ManyCam.  When the game starts, and the Flash dialog appears, say that your webcam is the ManyCam feed.  It will display the avatar picture. This is what I do, and it works. The added fun is you can change your avatar to show emotions during the game. If you have several faces of your PC, you can switch them (smiling, mad, skeptical, etc). Hope this trick helps more people!

I do love the idea of the "as" avatar showing up as the player avatar.  This could also be a less subtle reminder for GMs to switch out of an NPC when they want to post as the GM.

Worth looking into!  I hope a more basic method will be implemented, but until then, this would be great.

The 'As____' option certainly seems to be the way forward for this.
