Interest Check: Hyrule Chronicles, a 5th edition Zelda campaign

Hullo! I've been wanting to try this again for some time. I was hoping to get a few things sorted in regards to motivation and design, and I've now got a new iteration of the notes I have in order to try it again. Premise Hyrule is going through an uneasy peace. The past few eons have been witness to a brutal civil war, one so long and arduous, none today can ever remember what the cause of it was. The Gorons feuded with the Zoras while the Hylians collapsed in on themselves. It is because of this war that the Volgan Republic had formed in the harsh north, as a group of nobles from long ago had lead a gathering of people to settle in new lands, away from the monarchy they had grown ever weary of. The Kingdom and the Republic will spin their own tales on this, no doubt. At this point the war has been coming to a slow and uneasy end. The Goron tribes and Zora peoples have settled their differences, though remain with a tangible level of distrust. Trade between Hyrule and the Volgan Republic remains impossible, with royally certified documentation required cross the borders for official business. Tradition is failing, people's faith in the higher powers is waning as the people search for comfort in the temples, only to find little. It is a tense peace, with a new conflict primed to begin. Game Time I was hoping to play Mondays from 8:30 pm GMT and go on for a few hours (aiming to end each session by midnight due to work). This can change, of course, but it's based around things going on during the day. Sessions would be weekly, or failing that, every other week. Game Style I will admit to having been on a Critical Role binge as of late, so I'll be favouring story and roleplay over all. More things done in character and with enthusiasm would be appreciated, but rule zero of "everyone should be having fun" will be kept paramount. I'll be trying to balance out social and combat encounters, and while I will try to make more Zelda based dungeons, I might just be doing basic dungeon experiences. Game Rules Characters will be level 1, using the 27 point buy system found in the player's handbook. Race rules I have at the moment are Hylians (which is basically human) Goron, Zora and Gerudo. I'm doing incremental tests of these racial rules, so I'll be keeping it at these four at the moment. Class rules from the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide are fair game, as are backgrounds. You will have your starting gear from your background and class. Number of players Looking mainly for 4 to 6 players, though I might be able to stretch it to 8 if demand is high enough. Going to be doing voice, no video is required. We'll attempt it over the roll20 built in thing, but if that doesn't seem to work, we'll try skype instead. New players are welcome, as are veterans. In the unlikely event we get enough players between now and 8:30 tonight (so in the next 6 and a half hours) we'll get started tonight, otherwise, we'll go aim to start up next week.

As a big fan of all Zelda titles, I find your idea very appealing. Do you have ideas for classes yet?  I'd actually be ready to play tonight, or at put some of your ideas to the test in a short scenario. About myself: I am a 26yr old german male. Haven't actively played a lot of p&p (I only just played my first session yesterday actually). But I have the 5e rules down well enough from watching shows on the internet. ;) I am hungry for more and would absolutely love to play on a weekly basis. I run a basic logitech desk mic and got no cam ready right now, in case that matters to you.
All classes are welcome, and much like the game itself, I don't have any alignment restrictions, though I would prefer no evil characters if that's ok. As said, anything from the official supplements apart from the races are fair game.

I've only played pathfinder myself, so i would have to get into the 5e rules first (however im free this week, so that shoulndt be a prob.) I do like the zelda games and a more problemsolving/roleplay-ish kinda run (because my own Group is more the "i want to fight, level and Loot!" mindset, wich is fine but i want to try something else too) I could try to get ready tonight, though getting thru the rules might take too long. Edit:  Im a 23 year-old male, also form Germany. I enjoy watching streams like critical role, B.E.A.R.D.S. (or T.E.A.R.S. both german P&P formates) and small one off D&D streams if i see some on twitch. as a character im thinking along the lines of a Zoran fighter with a spear as his weapon of choice. (doesnt have to start with it though). Greetings :)
We can run down the rules as they come. If we do have a session tonight, it'll more than likely be character creation and going through the whole scenario before properly getting into it.
This seems like fun i would to play though i have never actually played 5e. I can be on at pretty much anytime also skype is fine if you end up going that route
That's alright. A lot of rules we can go through as we play.
Alright sounds like fun then
There will be days where I might be half an hour to an hour late depending on traffic since I would be coming home from work just before this game begins. Otherwise, I should have no trouble attending. While most of my experience stems from other systems besides 5e, I am very interested in the set up. I have been a zelda fan for some time and I have an idea of what character I would like to play. I think I can get a sheet hammered out quickly.
That seems OK. I think with that, we've reached capacity. Thank you so much for the interest folks!
