Unique Avatars Per Game

Hey guys, I had a quick look, but couldn't find any similar suggestions to this. For every game that I play in I have to change my avatar. As we can set our in-game name for display, we should also be able to set our in-game avatar in the event that we can't use webcam (which is extremely common in the games I play). The current avatar system requires you to leave the game, go into your profile, set it, then go back in - each time you want to change it. We should have a global, profile avatar, and the option to have a per-game avatar. Several of the people I play with have silly avatars, such as animals wearing glasses, and it is not only a little immersion breaking to have them displayed in the bottom-left because they don't want to change them every game, but it also makes it harder to associate names with character tokens on the board.

It's basically the same thing. (Honestly, for a moment I thought this thread was a reply to that topic, not a new topic).
For immersion's purposes (and I'll be honest in saying it's not a very good work around), you can minimize the avitars in tok-box. To add a visual aspect to characters, you can have your GM create character sheets (or if your GM is a mentor, they can use Brian's script and you can make it yourself) then click and drag the profile image into that character sheet. When this is done, under the chat box, there's a drop down menu that will allow you to post as that character, with that character's portrait. Hope this is helpful and not too disorienting :P

Go on the link Brian posted. I am the person who put a suggested work-around method for solving this. You can use a webcam-controller program, such as the free ManyCam program on PC. This can send any picture on your computer out, as your webcam stream. Just enable Roll20 to broadcast your video, and make your video source ManyCam. In the program ManyCam you can choose any picture you want for your avatar(s) and switch them with a click, even during the game.
Yep, thanks for the link. The title of the thread makes sense to me now. That workaround won't work, as almost every player I have met doesn't broadcast or accept video/audio, opting to use Skype instead. I'll go support the other thread.
