[Interest Check] Sunday Pendragon game CST

So, even though I swore never to play it again 2 years ago, I've kinda gotten the itch to GM pendragon again if I can find a group of 3-4 players who are either completely unfamiliar with it or just willing to come in fresh and take the game seriously. For those of you not aware, King Arthur Pendragon tabletop game set in Arthurian period where you will play knight's in Camelot. Depending on player input we could start from the very begininng, before Arthur was born, or we could start anywhere up to when he pulled the sword from the stone. Pendragon is a game that is on rails for good chunks of it. I think it's every other chapter is very much on rails and the even numbered chapters offer more freedom. But the system itself is a very authenic experience and very enjoyable to play. if anyone is interested in playing Pendragon, let me know. If you haven't played it before that's even better because of the nature of the game it's best experienced fresh.

I'd be interested, I have the books for this but I've only really glanced through them as I never expected to really play in it, so I think I might be a part of your target group at least. However I'm curious if you could elaborate on the railroading? Is it due to how based in Arthurian myth it is or something else?

Is it due to how based in Arthurian myth it is or something else? Day would be Sunday, time is flexible but it be some time after 12pm Sunday Railroading is due to the nature of the campaign. It's broken up into "Chapters" of history spanning ~80 years and several chapters give you very little freedom as to what you can do as a character. The first 2-4 sessions are completely on rails in order to 1. Acclimate the players to the game system, and roleplaying Arthurian Knights and 2. Accurately represent a knight's life during the dark ages, which was basically "Lord tells you to do this, you do it" Grand adventures and freedom's don't come until after the first chapter (Ten years in game time) and after that it opens up for awhile, then goes back on rails during the unification of England under Arthur and then it really opens up again after that. Basically each year in game for the first few years is Court > adventure dictated by the book > court > winter phase > repeat After the first 5 years you start getting choices as to which adventure you want to go on, then Chapter two let's the players really do what they want as they help shape the period between Uther and Arthur before Arthur takes the throne. If that explains it?
Yep, that does it quite well and thankfully does not sound as bad as I imagined.
Very Interested. GM'd for years, haven't played in ages. Love the system.
I'd be interested in playing!
I'm definitely interested!
I'm running the Great Pendragon now. It's one of the best ever. We're 22 years into it and we actually recorded most of our sessions. PM me if you have any question. www.greatpendragoncampaign.com We run it on Roll20 here so the mods don't think I am just advertising: https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/700830/the-great-pendragon-campaign

Nice! Did you do the entire campaign? I ask because some of the GMs who run the GPC don't finish it or have to skip years. Even if you run it very fast it's over a year of investment.

I am interested if there is still room, I love me some solid GPC

Every Pendragon game I've joined has died under me within one or two sessions. If a spot opens up and your willing to take the risk hook me up!
