GuoxVrinn 26th of Kuthona, Post barn investigation

Gulo walks over to Vrinn, cleaning his rifle "Kommandant Vrinn, I was hoping we could disscuss plans to assault Fort Rannac, I have some stradidgies that I think will work if you would hear them." he looks at Vrinn, waiting for an answer.
Nodding in response to Gulo, Vrinn scratches at his stubble "Aye, but we should also lean everythin' we can about th' place before we go about makin' incomplete plans..." he replies with a sideways glance and a tone of voice that's indicative of the obviousness. "When we know what we're dealin' with, then we plan t' retake th' fort. Until then, walkin' in with incomplete knowledge is worse than walkin' in knowin' nothin'"
Gulo nods "Indeed Kommandant, but this is just an idea I thought up a few moments ago, plenty of room for change when needed." Gulo squats down, drawing a basic fort "We should keep our distance from the fort, cook our food in advance as to not give away our position with fires, during the first two to three days we'll have Doomwing and an invisible Chuffy scout from above, and while it's an admitted risk we may want to consider having Chuffy go into the fort it'self and find where the leader keeps himself, that will save us time when it comes to taking the fort. After scouting is done me and Chuffy will work on various alchemical distractions, Thunder Stones, Smoke Sticks, fireworks, the louder the better." The more Gulo goes on the more energy finds it's way into his voice "We'll have the Black Arrows, and you Kommandant, place these in strategic places around the outside of the fort, I'll spend some time fletching arrows before hand and leave them there as well. Then at night we'll have the Black Arrows and Shelelu light off the first firework, this should grab the attention of the halfogres, then we'll have an invisible chuffy drop Thunder Stones and Smoke Sticks from above, and while they are disoriented the Black Arrows will shoot a volly of arrows over the wall, I don't expect many to be hit but that is not the intent, the intent is to make the ogrekin think they are under attack by a greater force then they're actually are. The Black Arrows will move from cash to cash, fire off the fireworks, directly at the ogrekin if nessicary, taking a few running shots, and generally keep them distracted. But now back to Chuffy, we will supply him with a rope and he will throw it down the wall opposite the Black Arrows, we will then scale the wall and infiltrate during the chaos, I don't expect the fort will completely empty of Ogrekin and I have no doubt that the leader has surronded himself with the strongest of the ogrekin, casters, he may even be a caster himself, so I do not expect an easy fight. The next part is tricky." a grin slowly grows on his face "After we have dealt with the leader we must take his body, we can take the head if he's too heavy, and present him to the ogrekin, who will be fighting the Black Arrows, I'll see if Miro has a theatric spell of some sort, this will not only get the Ogrekins attention it will also give the Black Arrows the signal that we have succeeded, they can stop for the moment. When we have most of the Ogrekins attention we will present them there dead leader, idealy we throw him from the rampart and leave his mangled and bloodied corpse at their feet, and while they are reeling from that Miro will cast the same one he did in the woods, only this time on the crowd, that will also be the Black Arrows signal to return to their arrow vollys. They will be wounded, set on fire, their moral crushed, those who do not run will be easily picked off!" he stands back up, his grin gone "I will admit it is only a plan, I've never dealt with Ogrekin so I cannot be certain how they will act, but they are similar enough to orcs, only softer. We can alter the plan as needed when we get to the fort itself, but what do you think Kommandant?" he looks at Vrinn, awaiting his thoughts.
Vrinn sighs and shakes his head, looking down at the over-excited hobgoblin. "Are ye daft? Did ye not just listen to a fookin' word I just said?" he asks incredulously. "Ye do of course realise that everything that ye just said might not be possible right? We don't even know what th' fort looks like an' its layout, which is why the first thing I'm going to ask th' rangers for after our quick rest is a map to th' place so that we can at least know THAT much. What if it's all ceilings so that they can't see th' fireworks? Ye do realise it's fuckin' raining right, ye expect fireworks t' work in th' rain? And even if ye did manage t' pop a few off, they might not even hear them over th' rain an' maybe thunder if me hunch is correct. What if it's too windy for Chuffy t' fly? What if th' fort's embeddd in a mountain with only one way in or out?" Vrinn continues to rebuke Gulo with all the holes in his plan due to not knowing anything about the fort, the very thing he warned Gulo about just seconds ago. "Also we're not even sure if the rangers are going to be coming with us. I don't know if ye noticed, but they're injured. At best we might be able t' have one or two come with us, but that still leaves wounded soldiers in enemy territory recruit. Ye' don't do that shit" Vrinn exclaims with his best drill-sergeant voice using military terminology, hoping that it will sink into Gulo's militaristic mind set.
Gulo nods, neither mad nor surprised "Yes, that is why it is a loose plan Kommandant, it might even resemble the original plan when done. You are right about the possibility of the fireworks not being able to go off, but seeing them more then hearing them is their intention, the noise is up to the thunderstones. I have seen Chuffy fly fine, if it's too windy we wait another day to scout simple as that. While the fort could be embeded into the mountians as we are near the Wyvern Mountians, I doubt the ogrekin could take such a fortified base even as fractured as they we're during the attack, thou if it is that points even more to internal sabotage. If it is a mountain fort it would be prudent to set up a siege, it is the middle of winter and such large troops must take a considerable amount to feed, if we are smart about it would take one, maybe two months." Gulo thinks for a moment "Thou now that you mention the rain we could use that to our advantage,it will make us harder to see, and the ogrekin are much larger targets, easier to see them in the rain. we could still climb up the ramparts, it would just be considerably more difficult. As for the Black Arrows we have Herr Miro, a healer with the ability to remove curses, their injuries are temporary, a day or two of healing at most. They will help us kommandant, they are soldiers, the fort is their home and they would rather die trying to retake then leave it in enemy hands."
