RP Aftermath after the Demonhunt

At the Tipsy Mermaid I wait til Aurelia, Lydika, Syvil, Erolith, Sharleen and Beldak arrive. Then I wink to Adolfo to come over. When everone is there and sitting around the table, I lean halfway over the table, my hands put on the table supporting my upper body, I start talking: "You might want to hear about this or participate in this, up to your discretion, I suppose you have read the last report." "First of Adolfo, there is this chest and there were some objects inside that this little girl" I say pointing at Aurelia "took for her own. Maybe some of it can help you with covering some of the losses that we partly caused you." I continue: "I assume everyone of you has read the report that was issued. Good. What happened to us is very peculiar and it has plagued my mind a lot. I have questions for basically all of you and hope that maybe some of you can answer them. I am surprised we survived that well this encounter, Syvil you keep surprising and puzzling me. But first things first. "Lydika: How long do you reckon this friend of yours is already on this island? I did not see who was running into the bookstore. Which of the two persons that were reportedly in that backroom of the inn was it? This will tell us whether the book you so urgently long for has changed its possessor or not. Sharleen: What was that with your sword? Is it your deity or arcana that caused it? It apparently reacted to that being so it might give us more information of how it came into this plane and what it was. "This brings me to all of you that know the arcane arts: I don't think that the intention was to create this being and let it surface in this store. We must have disturbed them enough to force this reaction.  We need to figure out what was the actual goal. It is already horrifying that these people summoned this being. But as I said, I believe it was not their intended goal. This drew way to much attention to their activity. "The guards assessed that the skulls were of people long dead. So this place must have either been prepared a long time ago or there were multiple rituals already done at this place. Maybe somebody can find traces of this by investigating that place.  "We need to be more cautious about magical fluctuations. I don't know the other people that have knowledge of the arcana. I read about Reskin but never actually met him. Maybe we should ask him to join in this endeavour to find out about these fluctuations? "Syvil: You know this island better than most of us. And you have your friend. Does either know anything that might help us? Anything can be essential. I firmly believe that part of the plan is to take control over important people in the inner city. Syvil do you have contacts that can find out more about possible targets of their actions? Also can you keep your ears open regarding disappearing children. I have a bad hunch about this." I make a shot break. "Beldak my friend: can you help gathering information from the streets about unusual activities? Also, you remember our friend Tallia. Whatever anyone here says. I doubt she would be interested in a conspiracy like that and she could be a valuable resource for information. Maybe you can find a way to contact her. "Also everyone, I will try to get into contact with Ulrich and see if he can tell us more, he saw the site, however he did not seem to surprised and concerned. I would really like to know why. "Adolfo as you proofed to be a valuable source of information I am open for any recommendations you can make. "This is my proposal. What do you say?" I lift my arms from the table stand back straight. After looking into the round I sit down.

Syvil sits back a little; waiting for someone else to take the first word but it seems that he is willing to co-operate and is now pondering how to best answer your questions. He sips a little at his drink; seeming used to the quality of Haven's goods for he does not frown, as most new arrivals would, at the stale liquor.

Erolith is not there 

I may be able to help, I have a friend I met in jail back on Skara who has also been sent here to Haven. He may be closer contected to the shadier elements around the town than I. I shall reach out to him to see what word I can garner of Talia and anything unusual about town, have no worries my friend.

Sharleen sat quietly staring at her empty mug of ale with one elbow on the counter and her hand gripping the handle of the mug. She pounds the mug on the counter once as if to signal someone for a refill before looking up and spinning in her chair turning her back to the counter. She gives somewhat of a smile before speaking “To be honest I wasn’t expecting the flame to engulf the blade…I’ve never attempted to call out to my friend until that day but now that I know he still is with me somehow I’m a bit more comfortable here now” Sharleen pauses a bit looking out in the distance showing a bit of a saddened look before immediately switching back to her default fiery determined face. She gives somewhat of a nod not particularly towards anyone and turns in the chair again back towards the counter in hopes of seeing a full mug of ale once again.

Syvil, now satisfied that the others have said their piece puts down his drink and leans forward. There are a things I know, a few can even be shared... There is indeed someone, or perhaps rather a something, on Maladon which would seek to control the minds of those less suspecting. Supposedly it is called "The Horned King" and is non too pleasant. There are a few ways to protect oneself, being under the protection of a deity is one; I suspect arcane magic might also work if properly directed. As it seems still limited in power it stands to reason that targeting nobles might be one way to make limited power still be potent. Trouble is I know little of the Upper City... Which brings to the topic of the nobles and the Upper City. The best person to ask would be either Cain or yourself. I know Cain has resources for finding out information, and you have been there in person, haven't you Marokin? A good singer, especially one as unique as yourself, does not just have his songs listened to; he also has his face studied and rumors abound as to your motives. No, no, I'm not accusing you of anything, just explaining how I know about your doings. Finally then; Reskin... I don't like the man, that should be made clear first. He is a warlock if I don't mistake the sparks of magic he throws around. As all such he seems to want power, only he does not care where this power comes from, and little for what he has pay for it... I would not tell him of any evil books were I you; who knows what evil he might brew with spells such as what we've reason to suspect of that tome. Ahh, had almost forgotten; there's word on the street that children have gone missing. It was suggested to me that they would be the easiest targets for those who would practice more powerful blood magic than can be achieved with chicken's blood. Should you witness such a spiriting away then do try to get a lead and then report to Adolfo or the Brothers of Light; with whichever your loyalties may lie.

"I see, I see, well let's not forget about what we have made out together today and I hope we will inform each other when there are new hints. I'd prefer to not run into another one of those things again. This was unpleasant from my point of view. Indeed I have been in the upper city, but only once. When someone needs my service as a singer they ask me to come and when they had enough they ask me to leave. "Well let's stay in contact when news have been found." EDIT bc might b wrong about characters :D

Aurelia is the noble noble; think Lydika was a scholar.
