Howdy! I'm a very flexible player who's looking for a more narrative experience from my gaming. I've got experience with both D&D 3.5 and Mutants and Masterminds 3e. I'm hoping to find players and a GM who would be willing to participate in a story focused game in either one of those systems, with two caveats: - If playing Mutants and Masterminds, I'm not interested in a superhero story. I want to be able to play highly customizable characters with all sorts of fun abilities, but ideally in a more focused, epic environment, like a high fantasy world, or a sprawling sci-fi civilization. Even modern day adventures are dandy, so long as we're not restricted by the trappings of the superhero genre. I'm very familiar with this system, so if anyone is interested in a game like that using it but is unfamiliar with it, I can help teach. - If playing D&D 3.5, I was thinking we could try playing with the Vancian-to-Psionics mechanical overhaul. You can read about how it works specifically in the link, but the basic concept is that it translates the standard memorization/spell-level-based spellcasting mechanics to the vastly more elegant power point system used by the Psionic classes; essentially, it makes spellcasters have a mana-pool, which makes them much more intuitive and fun to play, and brings their flavor into the modern age. No more memorization and rituals to cast individual spells; now magic classes function more like the types of mages you would see in, say, Dragon Age, or the Elder Scrolls. If anyone would be interested in playing, or especially running a game like either one of those I described, please, let me know! With enough interested people, we could make something happen for sure.
