No clue what I'm doing but I want to join a game.

I'm new and I have no idea about these different systems and stuff but I want to play. I've play RPG video games but the only table top game I've played was monopoly. Just kind of lost and don't know how to proceed. EDIT: Time Zone: Central Standard Time (CST) Free Time: Weekends all day, weekdays after 7pm. Some video games I play: Fallout, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Dragon Age, StarCraft, Resident Evil, Warframe, Skyrim. So Fallout is a category on it's own so that one is easy. Heroic fantasy or Science Fiction sounds like fun.
Hi. Welcome to the community. The first thing you need to decide is what type of universe you'd like to play in? Heroic fantasy? Modern Horror? Science fiction? Depending on the type of video games you enjoyed, you could see what type of preferences you have and choose accordingly. Second thing is you should tell when you're free to play. Which day, at what time and in which timezone you are. Once the game masters who run games in this website (such as myself) know these informations, they will be able to tell you about their games.
Heya Jesse, If you are looking to join a dungeons and dragons game I would download basic rules and read them over. If you've done that already, I'd head over to the Looking for group page on roll20 and apply to a game that is new player friendly as well as being ran during a time that's good for you. I'm sure someone looking for a new player in their game will be along shortly, but it's usually easier if you post the day and time you can play, along with your time zone. The best way to get started though, is to read the rules over so when you do get started everything clicks a little easier. http://media.wizards.com/2015/downloads/dnd/BasicR... Id post more links but I'm the ol' iPhone and I find it impossible to do that stuff on a screen I've got to share a keyboard with. Good luck
