Invisible Light Source?

Hello, I can't figure out what I am doing incorrectly for creating an invisible light source where my players can see the light but not the source token. On my page settings I have DL enabled, restricted movement, line of sight, no fog of war. I drop a token onto my DL layer and set the light emission to 100ft and check off the box for all players can see light. Then when I rejoin the page as a player, the entire screen is black. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.  Shouldn't I be able to see the light coming from the token on the DL layer?

Do you have explicit control over a player token with sight in that area on the screen?  (ie your name is in the controlled-by box) You can't see the light unless you have control over something which is capable of seeing it....
Strangely enough I did this correctly a hundred times in 2013 heh. I can't figure out where I'm messing up on my new maps. :)
So I have to drop in a "Test Player Token" to actually see what my players would see?

Yup. Your 'vision' comes from that token; esp with line of sight enabled, it uses that to calculate what you can see so if there is no token, there is nothing which *can* see.  Thus you can't see anything.
That worked. Thanks. :)
