[LFG] Roleplay-Focused player looking for anything interesting. (PST)

Hi! I'm a fairly experienced player looking to get back in the tabletop scene after being taking a hiatus from role playing, and I'm looking for a group that I can play together with. That being said, as stated in the topic, I am roleplay focused player, but that doesn't mean I'm not up for combat, I just seem to enjoy the storytelling aspect of TTRPG's rather than the arithmetic. I enjoy well-thought out stories, and consider myself to be good at bringing a character to life, and being able to flesh out my character's story. I'm not looking for a specific game in particular, although I have enjoyed playing 5e recently. If you think I would be a good fit for your group/game, send me a pm, or even just add me on skype: superfly1101 - Julio
The world of Deuterra is an ever changing and evolving open world sandbox campaign. Deuterra uses the 5th edition of Dungeons and Dragons and mostly uses the standard rules with a few homebrewed thrown in there. The world was created by the team at Cognizance Games, they are a committed team of very talented writers with many decades of combined experience in, and love for, table top gaming, and the world is frequently updated by not only the creators but also by the actions of players. We use roll20 to play and the majority of the time Skype to communicate, the way we advertise upcoming sessions during the week is through a Skype group that we have, we do have a forum but its currently down because of technical issues and its being worked on to get back up, tho we do have a sub reddit up and running where we answer anything you would want to know. We are looking for all players and dm's, new or old does not matter, as long we have fun, we're happy. At the current moment we have around 10 active players, which doesnt seem like much, but even with such few players we still manage to run around 3-4 sessions every week. The sessions usually last 3-4 hours but can obviously go for longer if the players and dm are willing to, or end earlier depending on how well it goes for the players. The sessions are currently mostly favored towards players in the US since most of the active players are from the US, now, we are recruiting from everywhere in the world and have no set amount of players that we are willing to accept from each continent but we are also specificly trying to find some europeans/asian and oceanic people who are willing to dm but also play if they'd like to, so that we can make deuterra an international scene, fit for all D&D lovers wherever they might live. If you're interested or have any questions about applying to be a dm or simply play as a player or are wondering about the rules or the way we run Deuterra just go to our sub reddit (<a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/deuterra" rel="nofollow">https://www.reddit.com/r/deuterra</a>) and we'll answer anything you want to know!
Greetings! While we are not playing D&D 5E, we are hosting a system very similar to oldschool style D&D but with a unique combat system much better than the simple turn-based one in D&D (my opinion anyway). This system is called HackMaster. HackMaster is a game that was originally a parody of Dungeons & Dragons, but fleshed out to become its own sovereign RPG that's fun and unforgivably brutal. Its system is a lot more punishing and risky than Dungeons & Dragons (5e, at least), but ultimately in my opinion, a lot more rewarding and enjoyable (most of the time). Key things to note is that player characters do not begin the game as powerful demi-gods; they start out mostly as just a little above civilians. The progression can be pretty slow, due to the generally difficult atmosphere of the game, and of course, because the combat can be VERY deadly. Weapons are considerably more powerful than they are in DnD5e, which means even the littlest of pests can pack a nasty punch if armed with a weapon and blessed with a good roll of the dice. This is mostly in part due to the mechanic of "penetrating" dice. Because of these reasons, HackMaster can be frustrating and difficult, but it makes the reward all the sweeter. The DM is open to new players! We're a friendly group so far that just wants to have fun in a system that rewards perseverance and creativity.
