Hi Marcus B , Spooky - my other half suggested mega maps as the new set names and your spot on with the 4 X 4 map sections I have been doing my homework, with help and great insight from Gauss 's, he has tons of experience helping users out with large maps in Roll20, we came to a similar conclusion, a 4 x 4 map is the best option, as this still allows for a high quality map that all Roll20 users can use without slowing down Roll20 too much, I will be using a 4 x 4 map sections, suitably named to create, as you said the BASE Mega map and your idea of creating add-on packs to customize lets say the jungle map Base map is great. I do create tile sets with transparent Png files which a fine for tokens and small trees etc - but for mega map area's Png files are not great. So .Jpg based replaceable Map section would work well (so you need a Jungle Lake for dipping your players into - here you go and would sir like Piranhas with them? ) The first one I make - I'll send you a free copy all the best and Happy Roll20-ing Saul Wynne
Hey, Glad you like the idea, and I look forward to the results! A free copy is really not necessary, I appreciate the thought tremendously! Ideas are a dime a dozen, doing something with such an idea is what counts in my book. I must admit that I have not bought any of your tiles so far but had a look at the store now. I think you are on a good way with what you produce, certain tiles and fittting objects. Your Lava Cavern already seems to go into that direction with relatively big maps and tokens to go with it. I think I looked at your wilderness set 2 several times already trying to decide if the ISO look is a plus or a minus. Personally I like the pure top down look as it works best with Devins and similar tokens. Anyway, rambling now, good luck in your endevours!
