Major chat lag

This has been going on for two days now for myself as well as with my players. When we log in the chat window does not come up with the normal roll20 info green box. Instead it is empty save for a link at the top to view all chat entries, and it will remain like this until something is typed in (at which time it acts even stranger, see below). Here is what I mean: When we type into the chat, it will suddenly fill up with a handful of old rolls and msgs from whenever we last were on. For example, tonight, when I tried to roll a d6, it filled up with old rolls (which are not even complete) from rolls early last night when we had a game. I am actually kinda stuck, as it is now so far behind that I can't seem to catch up. Here is an example The bottom half of the msg is cut off. It does this regardless if I roll the dice using the buttom on the left tool box, type the /r 1d6 into chat, type a message, or do anything else.
Try clearing the chat archive from the campaign settings page. Not inside the campaign itself though.
Sorta works... If I clear the chat and go into the game, it will work as normal. If I leave, then go back in, it starts doing the same thing again. Until I clear the chat archive. Also, I notice that none of my macros work within my sheets. When I click on those nothing happens at all. I'm thinking it is a character sheet issue. It is a simple custom one, so I will go dig through that and see. Thanks

When you're clearing your chat archive are you doing it from the Game Settings menu?

Yep, that is what I was using. It seems to have stemmed from using the roll template for sheet rolls. I took those out and just left the normal role macro and it works perfectly fine now.
