Easy way to get cheap/free tokens?

i am going to be upgrading my acct soon but not sure if ill go to mentor level. the tokens there are some good some bad. where can i get d&d style tokens for players, monsters, and npc's either free or cheap.  i'm only finding a handfull of free ones on the marketplace ( if more then best way to search?)
Well, the normal in-the-game search should be pulling in results from the web too.   either narrowing or expanding your search, depending what you're searching for. For example, if you can't find something quite right when searching for armored paladin with holy sword , try searching for Paladin, or "Holy Sword."   If your search is currently something like Fighter, that may be too vague, which is also a reason you may not see what you want, as the results displayed are only a small part of what must be a ton of results.  Try searching for "Sword Fighter" and see if that helps. Note the quotes above.  In many (though not all) search boxes, including the one in Roll20, a search is done with each word separated, and relevant results being the ones with the most matching words.  If I search for Romaine Lettuce , for example, I might get photos of romaine lettuce, but I'll also get photos with just the tags of either romaine or lettuce, and they can appear anywhere (in any order) in the result.  If I instead searched for "Romaine Lettuce" in quotes, i will only get back results with the search as I specified in the quotes.  If someone tagged a photo Lettuce, Romaine, I would not see it, but I also would not see any results that included only one or the other.  Does that make sense?
yes but in that in-game search it also pulls non-usable tokens and ones you have to pay for to use and its harder to weed through that market place. at least from what i have seen.      if i have them tagged i can type my tag and retrieve it fast. was just hoping to gather a lot of free tokens in one spot then tag the ones i like.
well, if you have a program like gimp (which I use) , and some time on your hands, you could just make your own.  I take a token with the general idea of what I want, like a guy with a big greatsword, then edit it to fit my needs. You don't have to be a great artist to do this either, with a little practice any1 can get used to drawing with a mouse. Remember, tho, the more compact and square-shaped the image is, the bigger it will be inside the square on the game map. you don't want a lot of empty space either. So either erase or move things that stick out way far (like a leg, or a spear), and make the image as compact as possible. Editing colors is even easier. If you don't have Gimp or don't know how to use it, it's free online and there's plenty of tutorials on youtube. You don't have to stop at player tokens either. You can make houses with perspective on the roofs, or a stone firepit, whatever. Oh, you should also know that with these images the white space must be transparent, just select the white part and go to colors, then color to alpha. You will also need to save the image as a PNG. Hope this helps

You could search for images on the web (outside of Roll20) and then upload them to Roll20.  - Gauss
The fastest easiest free way to get tokens is to download a freeware program called TokenTool. <a href="http://www.rptools.net/?page=downloads#TokenTool" rel="nofollow">http://www.rptools.net/?page=downloads#TokenTool</a> Then just google image search for whatever image you need a token of. &nbsp;It takes less than a minute from google image download to having a token.
Also here is someones collection of tokens I stumbled across on mediafire. <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/folder/b9zj6ike6q0z9/ROUND_TOKENS" rel="nofollow">http://www.mediafire.com/folder/b9zj6ike6q0z9/ROUND_TOKENS</a>
I'm actually forcing myself not to go look for pre-made tokens so I need to create them for each game. That way I'll be sure to find the fastest way of creating them and I won't have the temptation to reuse the same tokens for every map and game. I don't want my players to say "Hey look! the same innkeeper! He must have traveled hidden in one of our backpacks." or "I think we've killed that goblin two thousand times already."
The maptools token tool is cool.&nbsp; Thank you for that link.&nbsp; Actually, thank you for both links.

Either using images from your game's monster manual/book or use sites like deviantart to find fairly good humanoids (tieflings, dwarf, elf, demon, etc.) and use the Token tool as suggested. You can either download the tool or use the weblauncher version, its a fantastic tool that makes quick pogs for your minimap.&nbsp;

I made a template for tokens in photoshop that has one psd each for the d20 system sizes of small, medium, and large, and they contain 4 different border types and a preset circle-mask and stroke. &nbsp;I usually use art I find online but we have a lot of artists in the group (including myself) so most of the PC's get their own art. &nbsp;The character art here is by my players James M. (the first one) and Roma J. (the rest.) &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; Here's the template , and while it supports a semi-transparent background and different border types, it also has a thin border and you can have an image fill up the whole circle.
Thank you Razir. &nbsp;I have some of those but many are new to me and I hunt for maps frequently very good selection.&nbsp;
