[LFP] [Dungeon World] First-time GM seeking 2-3 more players for a newbie-focused mini-campaign, Tuesdays 12-3 p.m. PDT (GMT-7).

The Game Dungeon World follows a team of adventurers as they explore a fantasy world, and the straightforward rules make it easy to pick up and play. You'll create one of those adventurers and portray everything they say and do as though they were real, living people. I'll describe what happens around you as a result, and you'll tell me how you react to the dangers and complications that arise, whether that means rampaging monsters, vengeful nobles, or magical earthquakes. The Campaign We'll play a total of three sessions that will run for three hours apiece (with a ten-minute break halfway through) once per week. The first session will start with character creation and world-building, and then we'll move right into the first conflict. The Time Tuesdays 12-3 p.m. PDT, though I'll make an effort to show up a bit early and leave a bit late in case you want to ask questions or talk about something. Our first session will be on 2016/04/26. The Players I'd like to run the game for 3-4 players total, and I have one committed so far (though not officially in-game yet). As I said, the campaign is newbie-focused, so no previous gaming knowledge is required. I'm happy to teach you how to play. That doesn't mean veterans are automatically unwelcome, though. As long as you're patient and helpful to new players, and you're willing to cut me some slack as I fumble my way through my first attempt at GMing, I'd be glad to have you. We'll use Roll20's voice chat to communicate in English, and I'll record our sessions just as a way to refresh my memory while working on fronts (I have a terrible memory, aha). Please try to keep background noise to a minimum and mute yourself if you need to eat, sneeze, cough, etc. The Rules We're going to stick to the core rulebook, without any compendium, kickstarter, or third-party classes or races. That means the races we'll use are Dwarf, Elf, Halfling, and Human, and the classes we'll use are Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Paladin, Ranger, Thief, and Wizard. I just want to get a handle on running the game as-is to start. That said, I'll allow minor changes to the core classes. You want your Bard to weave magic into murals they create in the air using enchanted paints? We can make that work. If you don't own the rulebook yet but want to come to the first session with an idea of what to do, you can find the complete rules at the  Dungeon World Gazetteer . Of course, if you like what you see, I strongly encourage you to buy the book to support its creators! By the way, if you haven't completed the Roll20 Tutorial yet, I'd recommend doing so. It does a good job of covering the app's basic functions, and understanding those will make learning to play a lot easier. Finally, if you have some time to spare, you may enjoy watching  An Evening with Dungeon World , a one-shot GM'd by DW's co-designer and Roll20's Game Master in Residence, Adam Koebel. The Setting This being Dungeon World, I'm going to leave the setting vague so the players can help me build the world we're going to play in. All I know right now is that the PCs will be traveling through a tidal marsh as they make their way from one town to another. If I ask you for input about the world and you're completely stumped, don't panic! You can always ask whether another player has an idea, or I can help you come up with something. I want to give you a chance to contribute, not call you out in front of the class for not doing your homework. I do prefer a somewhat serious tone, by the way. Not grimdark by any means--there's plenty of room for whimsy and comic relief. I just don't enjoy jokey names or a ton of pop culture references. I've also collected a bunch of sprites and backgrounds from various JRPGs (mostly Gensou Suikoden II and Lunar) to help set the scene. Here's an example of how that might look in-game: Sound fun to you? Head over to the  game listing or send me a PM, and we'll play to find out what happens! -O'Neill
