The rays of the sun shone through trees surrounding the modest Sutton home of the Lightpoint family. Father has come home on leave from the Queensguard and he shall be home for 4 months. The young Trelic looked forward to these times most of all, sure it was awesome having a Father that was a senior officer of the Queensguard but having a Father at home was even better. Trelic and his Father practiced sword play in the light of the rising sun. ‘My boy you are growing up strong and I have heard that you stand up and protect those at the school that need protecting from the bullies. Betsy’s Mother even thanked me when I arrived last evening saying that you have helped on their property since her husband died some time ago.’ The neighboring house and lands have fallen into disrepair since the passing of the Father 2 years ago and Trelic at the young age of 10 has done his best to assist. He still feels sorry for Betsy and sometimes shares his lunch with her at school since their crops this season came in very light. ‘I am proud of you, Trelic you are becoming a fine man and one day the Lightpoint shall be yours to wield. When you wield it my son, you must do so with a firm hand, a pure heart and above all compassion. Remember any man can hack, any man can kill but it takes a true hero to know when to stay his weapon and offer his hand instead.’ ‘This blade has been with our family since the first of the line to be named Trelic, he slayed many a foul creature bested many a villainous cur. But in the end he was known as a bringer of peace he was key in the talk between the light and dark elves of the east and he brokered a peace between them that lasted several elvin generations.’ This story, even though your Father is so sure of the tale is a bit hard to take since most the world believes dark elves to be a myth. ‘It was those elves dark and light working together in a rare peace that forged our weapon, Lightpoint, which was then blessed by Mala’kn himself on the Mountain Haria.’ ~Father is away again off to the Queensguard again~ Trelic hops the tattered fence to the neighbors house to fetch Betsy for school this morning. He thinks to himself he needs to fix that part of the fence this week. He hears a muffled scream from over by the barn. Trelic sprints over to the barn and finds the sound coming from the well, the side of the well looks to have collapsed and he moves over to investigate. He sees Besty fighting for air in the water 30 feet down. ‘Hang on Besty its only water don’t panic it will only make it worse.’ Without pause Trelic climbs down the rope the the bucket lowers into the water. He reaches Betsy in time to help keep her above water. ‘I’m here, you will be ok now climb onto my back’ Trelic begins to climb the rope with Betsy on his back, his muscles ache and strain with the added weight but he can make it. ~Snap~ The two fall back down the well Betsy’s head cracks against the stone sides of the well killing her instantly and Trelic is knocked out. When he wakes he is floating on the body of his best friend at the bottom of the old well where he remains for 3 days until his yells for help are finally heard and Trelic is pulled from the well. "What kind of man will you be my son?" His Father's words ring through his head.
