LF weekly Pathfinder group

Experienced RP'er looking for a Pathfinder group that plays at least once per week. Continual campaign or PFS scenarios. Please advise!
I'd be up for playing a wizard in a pathfinder continual campaign! I have years of gaming experience, ever since 2nd ed. I've looked over the Pathfinder books, and I'm learning the differences to it, but since it's built on 3.5 it shouldn't be too much of a shock for me. I'd love a Friday night, or Sunday game. I live in the pacific time zone (GMT-8:00)
I'm also down for Sundays EST time. If you can get a GM and more people.
Sundays would actually work well. Are there any Pathfinder GM's out there looking to get started with something? Could be an AP, regular PFS, or a homebrew, w/e. Please let us know! :)
Actually I'm going to have to bow out of this possible game. I've managed to get into a few others instead.
I would be available for Sunday so long as it isn't late
I can do sundays I have lots of pathfinder and dnd experience.
I could play sundays and I have a good amount of experience in 3.5 pathfinder and dnd.
Does any one of us have experience DMing and if so, are you willing to DM?
I may be willing to DM, though I'd prefer to be a player in this. Trouble is, I'm unsure how 'weekly' I could be. I could do Sunday one week, but the following week would have to then be on a Wednesday or Thursday. Good news is that come February, I will no longer be working this shift and can, thus, commit to each Sunday being a game day. I've been DMing for about 14 years or so in various games, 3.5 and Pathfinder taking the brunt of them. I'm a very flexible DM, and would be willing to work with everyone on their preferences of play, so long as all players agree with said preferences. I would be willing to DM for a few adventures, a shorter campaign, or moderately sized one. A long term campaign that stretches for a few years may be a bit idealistic for me, considering I'm apt to be moved around a lot in the military. Still, internet willing, anything is possible. Let me know your thoughts
I would be on to play as well if you have spots open, GMT +1 and open for most days.
Sounds good Atticus. Ideally it would be a more longer term thing. What would be your best weekly times? Sat or Sunday, and times?
If it is on Sundays, can we try to do it midday? I have meetings around 8 on Sunday nights but I'm free all day before hand. GMT -5
I'd be willing to pitch in. I have some experience with pathfinder and am looking for a good weekly game to join. I am available anytime Sat/Sun and anytime past 7pm PDT on weekdays.
I'm cool with Sunday afternoons.
Sundays would be best for me at this point, as I have a separate game as well going on for Saturday over an actual tabletop. If you all wish to play, I would need to know many things... a rather large list that serves primarily to help the game to be more free and friendly, despite the long rule list. I'll just throw it all out here so that we waste little time as possible instead of waiting for posts (I'm awake only at night unless stirred to wakefulness out of necessity - games being part of necessity, I promise you.) If I am to DM, I would have to lay forth some ground rules... *Pulls out an old, dusty tome that shakes the table as it slams down upon it* Now then... I will need.. and by no means must you post publicly; send me a private message. Page 1: Your Age: (if you don't care to give an exact, round it to the nearest 10's.. i.e: 20's, 30's 40's..) Your game time availability: (Sundays look best so far, but I must know the needs of the whole) Page 2: Your gaming preference: (This is going to be categorized by whether you prefer a more roleplay-centric game, a tactical combat-based game, or something in between. I have seen groups come to a crumble because people did not come into the game with the same expectations as others. Though thankfully none ended on bad notes, it took a lot of micromanaging on the DM's part as well as the few players mature enough to get the game moving again to keep everyone happy enough to have fun. I find that if we all understand the expectations of roleplaying conventions and how far we want to go with 'munchkin'izing our characters, we will all be a lot better off.) (also, I'm a big fan of party banter, so long as it never comes to fisticuffs...which brings me to...) *licks thumb to turn this page* This is an old book.. Page 3: PVP tolerance: (Do we, or don't we. If we do, there will be no willful killing of other players. None. Pvp in this sense is moreover to the effect of "I steal the gem my friend just picked up" as opposed to simply attacking them.. though I've seen games where it was fun for all players that the thieving rogue was conked about the noggin with a quarterstaff for attempting to grope a helpless female. This was acceptable to both players involved, though. If you crave pvp or despise it, let me know... this is something I would discuss with your teammates, however. This is going to be -your- story, after all.) Evil tolerance: (If any one player has an objection to an evil party member, there will be NO evil party members. Don't feel as though you're stepping on the toes of other people here. Evil characters can destroy a party and must be handled maturely. I won't live to suffer a game that I run to crumble away over something like this, so know that if you do play evil [and yes, I understand that evil characters have rather heartless roleplay] and screw over the party, your character will be subject to being NPCified... see below. As long as you understand this, can agree with it, and no one has an issue with people playing evil, then you can play evil) NPCifying: (This is when you either aren't able to show up and your character is pertinent to the plot of the adventure, or perhaps when your character does something to utterly raise the ire of most or all of the party, and I take over your character and act them out as NPC's based on the direction your character was going at the time. This isn't always a bad thing, of course, but it's something I want your opinion on before we play. If you can't show up to a scheduled game, do I have permission to play your character, or do we want to have them hang in the back and soak up xp... or perhaps let a now smaller party divide experience with a lesser factor? Let me know your opinions on this. Note that if your character is completely at odds with the party and splits off to go their own way, they will be NPCified if the party decides they want to seek vengeance. Doesn't mean they'll be killed, but hey, it's all the more reason to get along and play nice...right? Better to retire with friends than with enemies that were once friends. If you have questions on this, let me know, along with your opinions. Page 4: How long can I expect to keep you as a player?: (No tricks or sorcery here.. just a simple answer. This game can go on fairly long and longer still if we all enjoy ourselves.) May we meet in person (virtually) before the game starts?: I want to meet my players, and I'm sure you wouldn't mind getting an idea as to what I'm like too. This is a favor I ask all of you, if it can be helped. Let's chat sometime! Technology preferences: Are we going to suffer tokbox or use skype or vent... offer your suggestions, if you please, and whether or not we want to show our pretty faces too: I know some gamers that just don't want to play this game to simply a group of voices (and 90 somethin percent of communication is nonverbal. I saw that somewhere on the interwebs.) Also, I'd reaaaaallly rather not type out everything you see, so you'll have to listen to my abominable voice somehow. I like this next one... *reveals a page gilded in the finest gold the gods can offer and encrusted in sacred jewels that gently float just above the page itself* Page 5: I am the DM and my Law is Absolute: (I'm still human, however, and can be wrong sometimes.... or often... but I have learned enough of Pathfinder to keep the game moving smoothly. This is here mainly so that you know and understand that if a rule comes up that we're all unsure of, I'm absolutely going to make an adjudication based upon the most reasonable conclusion I can come up with. Is it right or by the book? Perhaps not.. but if it keeps the story and action alive and on FIRE with the HEAT OF THE SIXTEEN SUNS OF AR'KREN AKHOR... then it's going to happen. We can do rules later and remember them for the better next time. Now... while my laws -are- absolute, it does not mean you cannot challenge them... just present it to my attention that you know better than I what a certain rule does. I'm not in favor of slighting the players, and in fact, most rules will go to the players. If they do not, then there's probably a good reason.. I do tend to pull ancient arcana out of 3.5 OGL from time to time, just to keep everyone on their toes. On this page, let me know that you agree to this and punctuate it with a "Gygax". I'll know your sincerity upon uttering this name. Okay... that's all I need for now. On to my part! My current time zone is Pacific time zone ( GMT-8:00) I am a night shift worker, hours are 1900-0700 and I work a Panama shift. Meaning that I work this friday-sunday. I'm off monday-tuesday. I work Wednesday-thursday. Then I'm off friday-sunday. This alternates in the same pattern on until February when I work more the more usual hours of 0700-1700 monday-friday. Sundays will be free then (barring being on call, which lasts for a week at a time, currently) I am perfectly fine with any time of day on Sundays (perhaps even early on sundays for a short session just after I get home from work). When February comes around, I will be good for any time of day on Sundays... my life is just -that- exciting.
An idea I'm thinking of is a fairly simple (cliche) one for this campaign: You all start in a prison for crime that you have committed (or wrongfully accused of) against the crown. This would not be such a bad thing, except that you heard the guards mentioning that they must work double shifts to prepare the gallows for a prison-wide execution in the morning... Your necks cringe as you watch workers outside knotting ropes into nooses and setting up old, bloodied platforms. Things look grim, but perhaps not all is lost.. This will depend on your setting of preference, of course. I'm down with making a homebrew (been working on one... 'tis nearer the back of this dusty book), running something in pathfinder's inner sea world, or if you're all feeling like kickin it oldschool then I know of a realm where a certain red-cloaked wizard and dark elven ranger roam too. EDIT: ALSO! (and it's so delightfully easy on a DM).. I own the Rise of the Runelords anniversary book, so if no one's played through that yet then hey, I'm not against something that I can totally just read off of the pages :P
Hey Atticus, brilliant write-up. :) Can you (and any other players looking to join) skype me? My Skype is NateTheGreat976. I propose we use Skype for playing, or if anyone has a TS or Vent server, that would also work. We can discuss there, but I'd like to see if we can launch first game this Sunday. For my part, I'm open to whatever you want to play: Rise of the Runelords, or homebrew, whatever you're most comfortable with. If you're on Pacific time, how early could you start on Sunday? I'm on Atlantic time (Nova Scotia, Canada), so that's 4 hours ahead of you. I'm free all day Sundays, just want to make sure the group settles on a time that works for everyone. Could we get everyone's input? Add me to skype plz. ^^
Sundays'd be great provided everyone would be available from 10-5 PST
Any time Sunday, as I said (all Sundays from February and on) I just need to know in advance so I can prepare (and possibly sleep) before the game.
Guys, can you PM me your skypes? JR I got yours.
I'd be interested in joining, but I would only be really available from 5 PST onwards until past 11:00 or so! On sundays, at least. My skype is 'srekans'.
I would be interested in joining, I would be able to play anytime
How many players have you confirmed so far?
Lots of people are posting but I only have one guy on my skype, and we're still working out times for Atticus who might be DMing.
I've only gotten one person to send me a private message with their responses. Some of this stuff, despite the somewhat theatrical post I made, is pretty need-to-know if you're going to play with me. I think most important right now other than that is to confirm that Sunday is the time that we all want to be playing (with time preferences). We should lock in players and decide on how many is too many. Personally for me, while I would normally be alright with 8... that's 8 of my good friends. I'd prefer a cap at 6 with no fewer than 3.
What's your Skype Atticus, I'll add you. I have one other person confirmed so far for Sundays. A 6-player cap is fine with me. So that means.. we need 4 more people. Can you please confirm here and either post your skype or send it to me in a private message so I can add you and we can get organized.
It looks as though game time will start around 1pm EST on Sundays (10am pacific). If that's too early let me know.
I inbox'd you my skype. 1pm means 10am here, which should be fine. I'll just have to stay out of the deep end of my cups on Saturday nights.
If you're interested in playing with me, folks, please send a response to me answering the questions from my above post (The big one.. the one that probably scares you to read it [muahaha})! We have room for a few more players to cap this group!
Message sent Atticus
So far we've got: - Cavalier - Rogue - Ranger - Magus Still need 2 more!
I'm interested! What do I need to do?
we may be full, but a couple of our potential members haven't quite posted their information that I requested. It's the big post - the one you probably skipped instinctively. Just message me with responses to those questions/preferences. That's all you need to do!
Message sent I hope it's the right format and all heh
I sent ya my post Atticus. Only thing I'm uneasy about is the skype thing. If needed I could probably use my phone but as far as PC I don't think I'd be able to. Then again if we're only doing voice then I don't think it would be a problem.
Has this capped with 6 then? I'm interested but also wondering if there isn't a point in filling out the info now.
I'd stick around just in case, as we havent had our first game yet. There's always one or two that drop out initially. Skype me if you're wanting to play, I'll post on here when the full team is finalized. Natethegreat976 is my skype.
Game is 1pm EST this sunday.
