noob to roll20 simple question about saving progress

he there i'm a roll20 newbie, just wondering as i have spent the better part of the day building a module, is there a save feature, i'm scared to log out and see my work vanish. sorry if this is a fail topic but any help would be gratefully accepted.
Your work is automatically saved every time you make a change. We also backup all campaigns every day to an off-site location just in case you accidentally delete them or there's a fire (or a hurricane...) at our main datacenter.
awesome thank you so much for your help! looking forward to using this site.
Not a "fail topic" in the least. I have lost many hours of work. I did a search about saving progress because I will flip to another screen and come back ... many things just flat missing. I'm very new to Roll20 but have recruited 3 other people and plan to use it exclusively going forward (for my own campaigns ... no controlling other people's preference, of course). And, since I'm the one inviting them in, they turn to me with questions. Automatic saves are NOT saving my work.
This maybe a stupid question: But are you maybe on the wrong layer? If for example you're working on the map layer, or the background map is actually on the token layer, it's possible that that map is above the other stuff. Target the map itself and select "Move Back", and see if your missing stuff shows up. Also sometimes it seems to be a display bug only. If you reload the page or change zoom, or switch maps and come back, it shows up again.

(Before answering my post, you might try Quatar's suggestions as well.) Can you be more specific? "Flip to another screen", meaning you switched to another page and came back and stuff was gone? Or you reloaded the actual browser window? And when you say "many things are missing", is it tokens? Maps? Things from the Marketplace? Things you uploaded yourself by dragging and dropping? Things from the Web Search...? Characters? Handouts? And of course please be sure to include the relevant info on your system: http://community.roll20.net/discussion/5/submitting-bug-reports-read-first#Item_1 Sorry that you're having troubles, I'm sure we can get it sorted out for you with some more info. Thanks, - RD

Using Chrome, I will switch between encounter pages, or close roll20, etc. When I come back there are many things missing (ie map items, character tokens) Any help would be great.

Shaun, make sure that there is not a red box at the top left of your screen. If there is then anything you are working on is not saved. Saved work occurs as you work on things and if you are not currently connected then it cannot save whatever you are working on. However, assuming that you are connected: Map items and character tokens should not vanish if they were there. However, as Quatar said, sometimes another object on that layer will cover them up. This should not occur either but it is more likely. If none of this helps, let us know. - Gauss

However, I was working on the correct layer (map layer) and when I switched to another encounter page and came back it had shifted the objects in the map layer. For example, it put my trees, rocks, and horse drawn cart underneath the grassy field. I will check in the bugs and glitches section to see if this has been addressed. Thanks for the idea Gauss and Quatar.

I will inform Riley that this is a Z-layer bug. - Gauss
