After resting up at the Inn of the Hungry Gods, our fearless adventurers set off again for Anestral. After a few days travel a series of earthquakes starts to occur, one a night with alarming regularity. They are large earthquakes, enough to shake a keep but not enough to bring it down. After a few weeks of travel, right before arriving at Baren's Haven (the largest city in Southern Anestral) the party passes a strange broken down tower about a day's journey from the road. They think it interesting, but not enough to dissuade them from continuing on to the city. Their first stop in Baren's Haven is the barracks, where they find out that most of the able-bodied men and women of the town have marched North to aid in the war. There does not seem to be much call for local adventurers, other than the call for all capable fighters to head to the front lines to defend Anestral City. With the way of the warrior not leading to much of interest, the party decides to head to the temple of Shelyn, for Rathloren to pay his respects and to see if they can find out anything about the earthquakes. The priests report that they have not figured out much about the earthquakes. There is some imbalance amongst the deities... but what god is succumbing to which is not known yet. The priests report that the tower to the South just appeared after the first few earthquakes. They assume it is the ancient tower from local legend, that of a mage who saw the distrust magic was seen with in Anestral and teleported his keep away. Our brave adventurers decide to check out the tower to see if there are any hints about what the earthquakes are, or what this imbalance might be. The tower itself is half in ruins, with the Eastern side collapsed in rubble. ⇚ Druid? What Druid? The Undead Tree, Part 1 ⇛
