The party enters the Forked Pyre, and are admitted into Duke Furcas's presence. The duke is intrigued, for he says that Lor Si'Kink arrived several hours ago, and was slain. In fact, Lor's soul is still trapped within the wall of the Forked Pyre.... yet here he stands, alive and well. The party, having been joined by Arthas, explains that Lor drew a Twin card from the hallow deck, which may have led to him being duplicated. Duke Furcas has never heard of the Hallow Deck. He summons Sermignatto and claims the Deck for his own. Next, Duke Furcas requires that the heroes perform a task for him. One of his generals, an important figure in the war against Good, has been captured by a rival power, a goddess of death name Ankana. The general is being held in Ankana's realm, a plane where no minion of Hell can enter without an invitation. Duke Furcas asks the party to travel to Ankana's realm and rescue the general. The heroes agree. Ankana's realm turns out to be a dark, trap-infested pyramid. The party suffers many misfortunes, but eventually face Ankana herself. The Death Queen challenges them to a battle of wits and strength. Leveraging Malak's strength, Arthas's spells, and Elaryan's undead minions, the heroes are victorious!
