The forces of Talism move closer to the Anestrali capital. Lord Rail's are ministers working to generate an anti-arcane field over the city, unaware that it will bring the Inverted Pyramid crashing down onto the populace. Levicca Nor asks the newest Initiate of the Pyramid, Elaryan Enoram, to seek out an artifact called the All-Key, which she believes can be used to move the Pyramid to a safer location. The key's last known location was in an abandoned brothel known as Pythoness House, which was used for several years as a front for the Cult of the Crimson Coil, but which now lies vacant on the northern edge of Oldtown. Elaryan, Malak, and Eovan are teleported to the manor, where they are soon joined by Arthas. The paladin brings additional news; his contacts at the Knights of the Veil have heard rumors that the manor is infested by the spirits of the prostitutes and cultists who were slain when the house was raided. The party soon finds that the rumors are true; spirits roam the halls, strange voices echo through the house, and ancient portraits seem to have a life of their own. A gang of ratmen have also taken up residence in Pythoness House, though the party makes short work of them. After fighting their way through several floors of the manor, and vanquishing a final ratman on his giant rat mount, the party faces a neglected velvet curtain.
